Chapter 154 – In hindsight, I should have pushed Weiyin to marry into your family (1)
The Lu’s home covered a large area. There was a large lawn in front of their villa, and there was a lake near the back of the villa. The landscape was pretty good.
Not having a better option, Lu Beichuan could only discuss with Old Master Lu again. Using the excuse that Zhouzhou was still young and it would be too noisy with that number of guests, he worked on convincing his grandfather to decrease the number of guests.
Lu Beichuan had already won over the old butler. Under these two people coaxing and pestering, Old Master Lu finally conceded. He rewrote the list of guests that he wanted to invite to the birthday celebration to only include people that he had been friends with for many years, all of them were from families that been influential for generations.
The issue over the list of guests finally concluded.

In the evening, Lu Beichuan was finishing his leftover work for the day and Ye Zhen was holding the baby and feeding him milk. The baby was sucking the milk bottle and happily drinking. After he was done, he even gave a satisfied hiccup and grinned at Ye Zhen. He waved his chubby little hand in the air. His charmingly naive appearance had melted Ye Zhen’s heart.
This was the little baby that she had arduously given birth to. They shared the same blood. In the past, she had thought about how she would discipline this little fellow, but once he was born, she couldn’t even bear to say a single harsh word.
She could finally understood Mother Lu’s perspective now. She wanted to present everything that was good in the world to her baby. What was the big deal about doing that?
If it wasn’t because Lu Beichuan wouldn’t back down, Ye Zhen really wanted to have the baby sleeping in the same room as them.
Ye Zhen lowered her head to kiss the baby’s chubby little face. The scent of milk filled her nose.
With a sharp eye and agile hand, the baby grabbed a lock of Ye Zhen’s hair and refused to let go.
“Zhouzhou, let go of mom’s hair. Be good, listen to me! Ow! Let go!”
Not only was Zhouzhou very stubborn, he had a strong grip too. He tightly held her hair and wouldn’t let go. He kept yanking down too. Ye Zhen was tilting her head, and her scalp was aching because of this little brat. And yet, this little brat was too fragile, and she couldn’t do anything to him.
“Lu Beichuan, get over here and control your son!”
Lu Beichuan, who had been focused on his work, heard Ye Zhen’s voice, and the hand that was signing documents stopped. He walked to the bed and saw that the little brat had let go and was now sucking his fingers.
Ye Zhen deposited the baby into Lu Beichuan’s arms, found a pacifier for Zhouzhou, and tied up her hair.
Rubbing her sore scalp, Ye Zhen didn’t know whether she should laugh or cry. And yet, she couldn’t bear to criticize her baby. She could only say, “This kid is getting naughtier and naughtier. Who knows how he’s going to turn out in the future?”
Lu Beichuan looked at Zhouzhou, who was baring his teeth and grabby hands. He couldn’t help raising his voice as he said, “You’re not allowed to pull on your mom’s hair. Do you understand?”
How could a kid this young understand his words?
Zhouzhou’s big round eyes blinked. As if he had gotten scared by his father’s voice, his lips quivered before he started bawling.
“What’s wrong with Zhouzhou? Mom was just randomly saying stuff. I’m not blaming you, baby… Lu Beichuan, what did you do?! He’s only a baby. How could he know anything? Why did you scold him?” After saying that, she held Zhouzhou and coaxed him. She felt distressed for her baby. “Zhouzhou, don’t cry, don’t cry. Dad is a jerk. We don’t need to listen to jerks. Mom will beat him for you!”
After saying that, Ye Zhen smacked Lu Beichuan while she held Zhouzhou and continued to coax him, “Zhouzhou, did you see that? Mom hit dad for you. Don’t cry anymore, okay?”
