Chapter 43 – “Lu Lixing! You rogue!!!” (3)
The light scent from Ji Qingqing’s body had drifted over and invade his nose. This light scent helped his nerves, which had been tense all day, slowly relax. As his posture shifted into a more relaxed one, he closed his eyes.
He felt a bit sleepy.
Perhaps, he might fall asleep quickly today.
In the next second, a soft arm stretched out and laid right across Lu Lixing’s waist.
Ji Qingqing was wearing long sleeves, but the sleeves rolled up because of her fidgeting. And so, her hot exposed arm touched Lu Lixing’s skin. Ji Qingqing faintly felt that she was touching something cold. It felt very comfortable, so she rubbed against it, and her hand started going up.
Heat came from his lower abdomen. Lu Lixing quietly hissed. He lowered his head and saw that Ji Qingqing’s hand had gone into his pajama top from the bottom. Her hand was slowly going up…
Lu Lixing grabbed her restless hand to stop her. His breathing had gotten heavier. He gulped as an inexplicable heat spread from his lower abdomen to the rest of his body.
He was a man and had a man’s instinct.
Feeling someone holding her hand, Ji Qingqing uneasily fidgeted.
Lu Lixing took a deep breath.
Some women seemed so well-behaved, but when they were sleeping, they were actually so…
Hot?
There was nothing for Lu Lixing to say. He flung out the hand that had crept up into his shirt from his lower abdomen.
Ji Qingqing rolled over and took most of the blanket that had been on Lu Lixing with her.
The temperature in autumn was a bit low, and it was somewhat cold in the middle of the night. Lu Lixing tried to pull back the blanket from Ji Qingqing, but it was tightly held down by Ji Qingqing’s body. For a moment, he actually wasn’t able to get part of the blanket back from her.
Lu Lixing looked at Ji Qingqing’s unruly sleeping posture, then he looked at the line of pillows before helplessly lying back down.
Five minutes later, a leg stretched over to his side.
Lu Lixing expressionlessly pushed her leg off his thigh and took the opportunity to snatch back part of the blanket.
However, right after he had gotten enough of the blanket to cover himself, her limbs ventured back to his side. She tightly hugged his blanket-covered his body. Not only that, her head was on his pillow too.
Because of Ji Qingqing’s movements, Lu Lixing was trapped in the blanket with only his head out. He could barely free himself.
“Ji Qingqing!” Lu Lixing clenched his jaw and pushed her.
No response, she was dead asleep.
Lu Lixing took a deep breath. After a struggle, he was able to get his hands out from under the blanket. He pushed her body away from his, then he moved her to her side of the bed. He occupied the other side of the bed and maintained an especially safe distance from Ji Qingqing.
Practically the entire bed had been given to Ji Qingqing. Lu Lixing thought; she wouldn’t come over again, right?
Ten minutes later, Ji Qingqing rolled back again.
Lu Lixing: …
Why do women these days sleep like this?
Lu Lixing remembered Ji Qingqing saying she was a good sleeper and didn’t move around.
Could reality be any further away from her words?
This was the first time that Lu Lixing felt a woman was more difficult to handle than the Lu family’s business.
Troublesome!
So very troublesome!
And, it was a trouble where he was at his wit’s end!
He was tired. He was more tired from this than saying up all night to work.
After pushing Ji Qingqing away again, Lu Lixing simply sat up. He wanted to see how this woman would continue to roll around!
It was no big deal for him to skip sleeping.
If Ji Qingqing kept rolling back to his side, he wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway.
—
At 1 AM, Ji Qingqing’s alarm went off under her pillow. She abruptly woke up. Looking at the messy bed before here, Ji Qingqing was dazed.
For a while, she remained half-sitting in bed and blankly looking around her. At the end, her gaze fell on Lu Lixing. Her mind was muzzy, but it finally started to work. She placed her finger below Lu Lixing’s nose to check if he was breathing, then she checked his temperature. After making sure his condition was normal, she sighed and went back to sleep.
Before a minute had passed, Ji Qingqing’s breathing had leveled off.
