Chapter 1625: Seventh Fist – Shattering the Body
Translator: Noodletown Translated Editor: Noodletown Translated
Although Qingfeng Li’s skin kept breaking, he channeled the Mortal Purgatory Body and shot out golden light energy from inside of his body to restore the wounded skin piece by piece until it was fully recovered.
Gradually, Qingfeng Li comprehended the essence of the seventh Strangle Hell Fist technique from his wounds and recovery.
The first six fists were named: First Fist – Shaking Heavens and Earth, Second Fist – Crushing Mountains and Rivers, Third Fist – Shattering Heavens and Earth, Fourth Fist – Breaking the Firmament, Fifth Fist – Moving Heavens and Earth, and Sixth Fist – Shattering the Void. The seventh fist was called Shattering the Body.
With one punch, the target’s body would be shattered into pieces. If anyone could grasp this skill, they would not have any worthy opponents in the same realm.
Qingfeng Li took a deep breath, opened his mouth and spat out a black light. It was the black breath that contained the gloom and chilling aura of hell.
The Devourer Devil looked at Qingfeng Li and said with a sinister face, “Is blocking all you know? You are a coward. If you are worth anything you will face me and fight.”
Qingfeng Li laughed coolly and said, “As you wish.”
Qingfeng Li stirred the black energy inside of him and let it run through his body to converge at his right fist.
Many black tadpole talisman scripts appeared on the surface of his right fist. Those talisman scripts were infused with the aura of hell, which was the seventh fist of the Strangle Hell Fist.
“Seventh Fist – Shattering the Body,” Qingfeng Li shouted and threw out his right fist, which turned into a gigantic black fist a few thousand kilometers wide, shimmering with talisman scripts from hell, and containing the power of terror.
As soon as it appeared, it immediately cut open the space in front of it into two halves. The crack from the cut was spreading speedily like a black flash towards the Devourer Devil.
After he felt the strength of Qingfeng Li’s fist, the Devourer Devil was shocked and frightened. He waved the devil sword in his hand and swung forth trying to split open Qingfeng Li’s fist.
But Qingfeng Li’s Strangle Hell Fist contained invincible might. The seal scripts of hell on it were the breath from the God of Hell that the supreme spiritual treasure could not withstand in the slightest.
Kacha!
Qingfeng Li’s right fist smashed down on the devil sword and broke the supreme level spiritual treasure in half. The devil sword, broken into two pieces, fell on the ground but Qingfeng Li’s fist was unharmed.
Seeing that happen, the Devourer Devil’s face filled with fright, his eyes full of terror. He understood very well the strength of the supreme level devil sword, as it had killed supreme level masters before.
Although he was only in the ninth level spirit emperor realm, he could face the formidable power of the supreme realm. He didn’t expect that his sword would be easily smashed by Qingfeng Li’s fist. It was unbelievable to the Devourer Devil that this human in front of him had such invincible body strength.
The Devourer Devil did not hesitate at all as he summoned the devilish essence in his body and turned about, ready to escape. He was terrified of Qingfeng Li’s attacks and that his spiritual attacks and Black Demon Pennant were so easily broken by Qingfeng Li.
Even his most powerful weapon, his supreme level devil sword, was broken by Qingfeng Li. Compared to his devil sword, his physical body was far too weak and would not be able to bear Qingfeng Li’s fist.
“You want to run away? You wish! Die here instead!”
Qingfeng Li saw what the Devourer Devil was trying to do in front of him and scoffed coldly with a murderous light flashing through his eyes.
Qingfeng Li stepped powerfully on the ground with his right foot and made a big hole. His body rose into the air and he appeared suddenly behind the Devourer Devil’s back. Then he swung the seventh fist of the Strangle Hell Fist and smashed it into the Devourer Devil.
Pssh!
The Devourer Devil’s body broke in half from the middle.
“Ping!”
After the Devourer Devil’s body split in half, he fell to the ground, blood gushing out and flesh and bones openly displayed.
Qingqing Mu and Li Yang were stunned, eyes brimming with disbelief. They could not comprehend that the Devourer Devil they believed to be invincible had been killed by Qingfeng Li’s single punch. Moreover, his body was broken in half. It was really miserable that he did not even die in one piece.
Qingfeng Li was surprised by himself as well. Although he knew that the seventh fist of the Strangle Hell Fist, Shattering the Body, was extremely powerful, he did not expect it could break the Devourer Devil’s body in half, as easily as splitting a banana.
As a devil boss of the devilish world, he devoured the souls and bloodlines from the lord of the Greater Luo City and thousands of humans, patriarchs, elders, and self-cultivators of the Big Four. Therefore, his strength had already reached the ninth level of the spirit emperor realm.
His physical body was too hard to split in half even for supreme level spiritual treasures, but Qingfeng Li could do so with his bare fist.
The Devourer Devil was a master in the supreme realm and had forged a spirit. This spirit was like a master in the lower heaven realm, it had its own spiritual conscious.
If this black spirit escaped and spiritually seized a body, it could be reborn and begin training from the beginning.
Qingfeng Li sneered with cruelty in his eyes. He would not let the Devourer Devil’s spirit globe escape or else it would come after him for revenge in the future.
Qingfeng Li called the Fire Dragon’s Soul in his head. The Fire Dragon’s Soul had provided him a great service by destroying the Black Demon Pennant, and now he should return the favor by letting it eat the Devourer Devil’s soul.
The Fire Dragon’s Soul appeared with shinning eyes as it clearly felt the strength of the Devourer Devil’s spirit.
Its body turned to a black flash as it suddenly appeared beside the Devourer Devil’s soul and opened its gigantic dragon mouth. It swallowed the soul to refine and absorbed the energy to use.
The Devourer Devil’s soul power had reached the supreme realm. However, because it was wounded deeply, its strength had decreased and was no match for the Fire Dragon’s Soul, an ancient dragon god. It disappeared in no time and was shattered between the sky and earth.
The Fire Dragon’s Soul burst out a resounding belch, deeply overjoyed. It shined a dazzling golden light and gained much soul power.
It gave Qingfeng Li a satisfactory look and turned into a golden light, returned to Qingfeng Li’s head, and fell into a deep sleep.
“Wuuuuu”
Suddenly, a wailing sound came down, someone was crying mournfully.
Qingfeng Li turned his head and found that Qingqing Mu was crying. Her father, brother, relatives were killed by the Devourer Devil and had become mummified corpses. She was crying over her father’s body.
Qingqing Mu stood up while sniffling and took a long sword to Devourer Devil’s body. She repeatedly swung her sword at the body, pouring out the wrath in her heart, until the corpse lost its shape.

Chapter 1626: Entering the Imperial City

“Second Miss.” walking to Qingqing Mu’s side, Qingfeng Li reached out and patted her shoulder. “Stop crying. The dead cannot be brought back to life. May your grief be eased.”
Hearing Qingfeng Li’s words, Qingqing Mu nodded. The sorrow in her eyes faded somewhat as she stood up.
Qingfeng Li and Li Yang helped Qingqing Mu gather the bodies of the fallen members of the Mu Family. They buried the bodies, then erected a tombstone.
Three days later.
“Second Miss,” Qingfeng Li said to Qingqing Mu. “Thank you for giving me a place to stay in Greater Luo City. But I need to leave now. I need to find my wife, Xue Lin.”
Hearing his words, a strange look came over Qingqing Mu’s eyes. There was a complexity of emotions in them; she did not know that Qingfeng Li had a wife.
“Big Brother Li.” She looked to him. “Although my family is no longer with me, their bodies are still here in Greater Luo City. I want to stay with them for a year, but after one year of mourning, I’ll go find you.”
Qingfeng Li nodded. Patting Qingqing Mu’s shoulder, he turned and prepared to leave.
But Qingqing Mu stopped him. “Big Brother Li,” she called out. “Thank you for saving my life, and for avenging my father and my family. This here is a token of my gratitude, please accept it.”
With that, she produced an interspatial ring and pushed it into his hand. Qingfeng Li did not intend to take it at first, but Qingqing Mu insisted that he take it, saying that it was a gift of thanks.
Finally, Qingfeng Li had no choice but to take the interspatial ring. Then, with a wave, he left with Black Puppy and Li Yang.
On the highway outside Greater Luo City, the Black Puppy looked up at Qingfeng Li. “Where are we going now?”
“You’re at Eighth Level Spirit Emperor Realm now.” Qingfeng Li threw a glance at the Puppy. “Use your doggy nose and sniff around. See where all our people are, Xue Lin, Ruyan Liu, Little Apple, Sky Devouring Snake, the Fate Elder, Qixuan Zhenren, the Eastern Sea Prince, and the Third Princess. Then, we can go find them.”
Black Puppy nodded. “Although I’ve only reached Eighth Level Spirit Emperor Realm,” it said, “I can still only smell scents within a ten-thousand mile radius. Outside of that, I can’t detect anything unless I reach a higher level.”
Black Puppy stuck out its doggy nose, sniffing here and there before them.
A black glow emitted from its body, entering into the void and sensing for people they knew. He could sense up to ten-thousand miles around him.
A moment later, Black Puppy stopped. Its nose and eyes twitched as it stood, deep in thought. There was a hint of confusion in its eyes.
Seeing Black Puppy’s strange behavior, Qingfeng Li asked him. “Puppy, what’s wrong. Did you find them? Where are they?”
Black Puppy shook its head. “The people you mentioned, I didn’t sense any of them. They are probably outside the ten-thousand-mile radius,” it said. “But I sensed someone else.”
“Someone else? Who could that be?” Qingfeng Li asked.
Qingfeng Li remembered the people who had ascended to the Top Tier Planet with him very clearly. They were it. There had been no one else, so why would there be another person’s presence?
There was still uncertainty in the Black Puppy’s eyes. “I just smelled that person’s scent,” it said. “It smelled like Mengyao Xu.”
Hearing this, Qingfeng Li was shocked. He had never have thought that there would be Mengyao Xu’s presence here.
Qingfeng Li clearly recalled looking for Mengyao Xu back on Earth and not finding her. He had then mobilized the entire planet in the search to no avail.
Later, he had heard from some people that Mengyao Xu seemed to have been taken away by some mysterious person and disappeared from Earth. This had always been the greatest regret in his heart.
He was extremely close with that woman. They had experienced a lot together. She was his friend and confidant. And now, unbelievably, he had found her on Mars. Qingfeng Li felt a mix of emotions.
“Just now,” he spoke to Black Puppy beside him. “Where was the scent of Mengyao Xu that you smelled?”
Black Puppy held out a dog paw, pointing forward. “I smelled it directly in front of us,” it said. “It’s eight thousand miles from here.”
Qingfeng Li found a passing self-cultivator and inquired about what was eight thousand miles ahead of here. The self-cultivator told him that, eight thousand miles ahead was the Imperial City of the country of Lingyun, Yunlan City.
Qingfeng Li nodded his thanks at the self-cultivator. Then, turning, he led Black Puppy and Li Yang toward the Imperial City of Lingyun.
Along the way, Qingfeng Li asked around with other self-cultivators. He now had a clearer understanding of the country of Lingyun.
The country of Lingyun was a country of self-cultivators. It had a population of one hundred million. Its Emperor, a powerful Third Level Supreme Realm Master, was also the most powerful master in the country. It was he who had built Lingyun from the ground up.
Wanting to find Mengyao Xu as quickly as possible, Qingfeng Li travelled quickly and did not waste any time on the road. One day later, they arrived at the Imperial City of the country of Lingyun, Yunlan City.
Qingfeng Li had been to Greater Luo City, he knew what a self-cultivator’s city looked like. But even it paled in comparison to the Yunlan City before their eyes.
Yunlan City of the Country of Lingyun was incredible. Its walls, made entirely of meteor stone, stood at over a hundred meters tall.
It had to be said that on Earth, even a tiny piece of meteor stone would be fought over by self-cultivators to the death. But in Lingyun, there was a full mountain-range of the stuff.
The stone was cut, melted, casted, and finally put together into a massive city wall.
Outside of Yunlan City’s defensive meteor stone walls, there was still a massive defensive array formation. Having studied arrays himself, Qingfeng Li could clearly sense that this was a Supreme Class Array formation. Only a master of the Supreme Realm could decrypt it.
Of course, Qingfeng Li could as well, but there was no need. He was here to find Mengyao Xu, not to stir up a fuss.
The gates of the Imperial City were, too, made from meteor stone. The entire thing was jet black, standing over a hundred meters tall, a couple of dozen meters thick. Most self-cultivators wouldn’t be able to break though these gates, but Qingfeng Li was an exception.
Each self-cultivator who enters the Imperial City needed to pay ten vitality stones, a full ten times the cost of entering Greater Luo City.
Not wanting to cause trouble, QIngfeng Li took ten high-grade vitality stones from the interspatial ring that Qingqing Mu had given him and threw them to the guards. Then, he walked inside.
The Imperial City was a prosperous place; its streets were all paved in third-grade meteor stone; these were fifty meters wide, enough for five horse-drawn carriages to travel side-by-side.
To either side of the meteor stone streets stood a forest of tall buildings. These were elixir stores, spiritual treasure stores, weapons stores, spirit herb stores, among many others.

Li Yang looked at the splendid Yunlan City before them, a hint of awe in her eyes. As the Imperial City, Yunlan City was absolutely majestic. It was more magnificent than even the largest city on the Water Planet.
The tall buildings here were built from crystals, scattering the light into the colors of the rainbow. The ground paving and city walls were impenetrable meteor stones.
In the shops on either side of the road, there were all kinds of merchandise, elixirs, Dharma treasures, talisman charms, and weapons. Powerful auras were emitted from these stores, causing the passing crowds to stare with heated gazes.
The crowds walking along the streets were all powerful self-cultivators; the weakest amongst them were spirit king realm masters, and many were spirit emperor realm masters.
Qingfeng Li even sensed the presence of a spirit supreme realm master like himself nearby. It was an old man, dressed in green; he looked to be over a hundred years old, with white hair and a white beard. And although he hid his power well, Qingfeng Li still felt the presence his body emitted.
Noticing Qingfeng Li, the green-robed old man turned to glance at him; then, he vanished.
“Puppy,” Qingfeng Li inquired of the Black Puppy. “Use your nose again and sniff around. Find Mengyao Xu’s specific location so we can go find her.”
The Black Puppy nodded. Using its doggy nose, it sniffed around on the side of the street. A black glow appeared from its nostrils and covered the entire Yunlan City.
After five minutes, Black Puppy stopped. It reached out its paw and pointed East. “There’s a restaurant one kilometer in that direction,” it said. “Mengyao Xu is there.”
A hint of joy appeared in Qingfeng Li’s eyes; he led the Black Puppy and Li Yang eastward. They walked quickly and, after only a short while, they arrived at the location.
The restaurant was a towering building, over a dozen stories tall, made entirely from white crystals. The building emitted a soft white glow.
On the front face of the building were written in large letters: Phoenix Palace. It could also be read as Phoenix in Flight. To the side, there was a crystal sculpture of a phoenix; it was extremely lifelike and looked like it was about to take to the skies.
In front of the palace’s door, there stood four guards in black. They were very tall, each reaching six-foot-three, and wore heavy black steel armor. They carried spears in their hands, stopping anyone from entering.
When Qingfeng Li, Li Yang, and Black Puppy moved to enter, their paths were blocked by the four black-armored guards.
Qingfeng Li’s brows furrowed. “We’re going for a meal,” he said. “Why are you stopping us?”
“The Third Princess is eating inside,” the leading guard spoke coldly, his face stoic. “No one is permitted to enter.”
“Third Princess?” Qingfeng Li’s brow furrowed further as he asked. “Which Third Princess?”
Hearing his words, the towering guard let out a laugh; there was a look of contempt in his eyes.
“You peasant,” he said, voice cold. “What, were you living under a rock? You haven’t even heard of the Third Princess? The Third Princess, the most beautiful woman in all of Lingyun; she’s the Emperor’s favorite princess, the apple of his eye.”
Qingfeng Li rolled his eyes, speechless. He had just arrived on the Crimson Fire Continent and just entered the country of Lingyun. How would he have heard of this Third Princess.
Black Puppy stuck out a paw, nudging Qingfeng Li’s pant leg. “I smell Mengyao Xu’s scent,” it whispered. “She’s right inside this restaurant.”
Qingfeng Li frowned again. From Black Puppy’s words, he knew that Mengyao Xu was in this building before them. But, just now, the guard had informed them that the Third Princess was inside. Could it be that Mengyao Xu and this Third Princess were connected somehow?
Qingfeng Li had never really known much about Mengyao Xu’s origins. He hadd used to think that she was just a female cop on Earth.
But after some investigation, he found that there were many points of suspicion hidden about her. Many people did not know where she came from, or where she went to; then, she had mysteriously disappeared from the face of the Earth.
Looking at the Phoenix Palace before him, Qingfeng Li suddenly opened his mouth to let out a shout. “Yaoyao!”
Qingfeng Li’s cry was loud; he had used his Soul power to send out a sonic wave. The shout rang throughout a two-kilometer radius. Everyone standing in front of the Phoenix Palace had heard him.
At this moment, inside the Phoenix Palace, the Third Princess was having tea with a female friend. This friend of hers had quite the background; she was the daughter of the King Warden of the South, Princess Red-Swallow.
Both the Third Princess and Princess Red-Swallow had heard the shout just now. A look of shock came over the Third Princess’s face. It was a familiar voice, one which she had heard many times before; she had never in a million years have thought that she would hear it again in the Imperial City. She sat there in shocked disbelief.
Beside her, Princess Red-Swallow blinked several times. She stared at the Third Princess with a strange expression.
As a good friend of the Third Princess, Princess Red-Swallow naturally knew that the Third Princess had a pet name, Yaoyao.
But she also knew that very few dared to actually use this name; only the Emperor and the Empress Consort were permitted to call her such, and absolutely no one else. Now, however, someone outside the palace had shouted out the Third Princess’ pet name. If anyone found out, he would certainly be beheaded.
Outside the Phoenix Palace, the four guards, having heard Qingfeng Li’s shout, jumped in their skins. Their expressions changed to one of terror. They knew full well that the Third Princess was enjoying tea inside the restaurant. If she were to be disturbed, they’d certainly be reprimanded.
Glaring at Qingfeng Li, the tall guard shouted. “Bastard! What are you screaming for? Do you want to die?”
Beside the tall guard, the other three guards quickly took out their black-steel spears. As they activated their vital essences, the black-steel spears emitted a harsh energy; they pointed at Qingfeng Li as though they were about to run him through.
Just then, there came a lovely but firm voice from up in the building. “Stop, all of you!”
Then, a beautiful lady in a green dress walked down from the building. She had exquisite features and snow-white skin, her figure graceful. Her eyes shone with striking brightness.
Upon seeing this woman, the tall guard rushed into a bow. “Princess Red-Swallow,” he said, “Why did you come down?”
Princess Red-Swallow gazed at the tall guard. “Put down your spears,” she said, her voice indifferent. “The Third Princess wants this young man to go upstairs.”
With a faint smile, Princess Red-Swallow led Qingfeng Li, Black Puppy, and Li Yang into the Phoenix Palace, leaving the four tall guards dumbstruck.
They knew better than anyone that the Third Princess was extremely mysterious. She seldom invited male friends for meals; but now, she was actually inviting Qingfeng Li to dine with her. If word of this got out, the whole Imperial City would be in an uproar.
Those young nobles and aristocrats would certainly be envious and stir up trouble around Qingfeng Li. After all, the Third Princess had many admirers within the Imperial City, and all of them were powerful, both in strength and influence.

Chapter 1628: Phoenix Palace
Translator: Noodletown Translated Editor: Noodletown Translated
Following behind Princess Red-Swallow, Qingfeng Li, Li Yang, and Black Puppy walked toward the third floor of the Phoenix Palace.
The Third Princess sat by the window on the third floor of the Phoenix Palace. The seat was in a good location; the people on the streets below were clearly visible, as was the scenery of the entire Imperial City.
The Phoenix Palace was luxurious to the extreme; the floor was paved entirely of white crystal and shone with a silver light. It was like the palace of a true phoenix.
The staircase was also forged from white jade, smooth and warm to the touch. Luminescent pearls were set into the walls by the stairs where they gave off a white glow.
The suspended ceiling was covered in a thin layer of gold, which had been poured directly onto the structure. The entire restaurant was decorated in splendid opulence.
Qingfeng Li knew that even an Emperor’s palace in the Ancient Continents could not have been more finely furnished. No wonder the Third Princess had chosen to meet her friends for tea here, it was simply magnificent.
In just a few moments, Princess Red-Swallow had arrived on the third floor with Qingfeng Li, Black Puppy, and Li Yang.
Looking ahead, Qingfeng Li saw a row of bamboo curtains. Behind them sat a woman; she wore a white dress and had long, flowing hair.
A translucent veil covered her face, obscuring her true appearance from view. Seeing her, a look of surprise came over Princess Red-Swallow’s eyes.
She clearly remembered that, when she had left to invite Qingfeng Li upstairs, the Third Princess had not yet pulled down the bamboo curtain, nor had she been wearing the veil. But in that time, she had put on the veil. It was apparent that she did not want Qingfeng Li to see her face.
Princess Red-Swallow wondered quietly to herself if this handsome young man knew the Third Princess somehow. From what she knew of the Third Princess, the beautiful woman had always been rather mysterious.
The Third Princess had never lived in the Imperial City before. But just a few months ago, she suddenly arrived in the city and had since then become the Emperor’s favorite princess.
The Third Princess was a daughter that the Emperor had left elsewhere. Now, she had found her way back.
As a Princess herself, Princess Red-Swallow often frequented the Imperial Palace. She was therefore on good terms with the Third Princess; it could be said that the two were best friends.
Princess Red-Swallow knew that the Third Princess did not have any male friends. But today, she willingly invited this handsome young man for a meeting. No matter how you looked at it, the situation was rather unusual.
Qingfeng Li used voice transmission on the Black Puppy. “Puppy, can you smell this woman’s scent?”
Black Puppy nodded, but there was a hint of uncertainty in his eyes.
“Qingfeng Li,” the Black Puppy spoke using voice transmission. “The woman I sensed in front of us before was indeed Mengyao Xu. But she seems to be using a powerful technique to hide her presence; it’s different from what I smelled earlier.”
Qingfeng Li nodded. If this woman before them was indeed Mengyao Xu, then she must have quite the background. It wouldn’t be strange, then, if she were practicing an Immortal level technique. With his own chance encounters, Qingfeng Li had several Immortal level techniques himself.
Looking at the woman before him, Qingfeng Li spoke. “Third Princess, may I know what you called me up for?”
The veiled woman behind the bamboo curtain stared at Qingfeng Li without a word. But deep in her eyes, there was a complex mix of emotions, which Qingfeng Li caught.
These eyes were familiar to Qingfeng Li, they should belong to Mengyao Xu. But the energy radiating from this woman was an unfamiliar one.
The woman radiated the energy of a self-cultivator and a powerful one at that. Mixed in with this energy was the presence of Mengyao Fu from the Talisman-Emperor Sect on Earth.
Before Qingfeng Li’s questioning, the Third Princess only stared at him quietly, her beautiful eyes opened wide. She did not answer.
Using his clairvoyance vision, Qingfeng Li tried to look though the curtain at the Third Princess. However, his vision could only see things within a meter of him, and there were five meters between him and the Third Princess; he could not get a clear view.
He took a step forward toward the Third Princess, intending to pull the silver curtain aside and see who this Third Princess really was for himself.
Just as he took the first step, Princess Red-Swallow moved from beside him, blocking his way. She stopped him from going further.
“Stop,” she said, staring at Qingfeng Li. “If you wish to speak with the Third Princess, you must stand five meters away.”
Qingfeng Li furrowed his brows. Although he wanted to find out who the Third Princess was, he still had to respect Princess Red-Swallow’s authority. He could feel clearly that she was a Spirit Emperor Ream master.
Of course, Qingfeng Li had now broken through to the Eighth Level Spirit Emperor Realm, and he was confident that he could defeat anyone of the same realm. If he were to fight Princess Red-Swallow, he was sure he could win.
But as Princess Red-Swallow was a friend of the Third Princess, Qingfeng Li did not attack her. He stood quietly in place.
Just as Qingfeng Li and the Third Princess were staring at one another, a sudden commotion came from down below.
“Let me go up,” a furious voice sounded from the door of the Phoenix Palace. “Who dares to stop me?”
Of course, the four towering guards at the door weren’t about to let him in, not when the Third Princess was dining inside.
However, the four of them did not dare to attack the man with their spears, either. This man was of distinguished background; he was a Young Prince, son of King Ning.
The lead guard bowed deeply. “Young Prince, the Third Princess is inside with a guest,” he said. “We’ve been ordered not to let anyone enter.”
The young prince was a handsome young man of about twenty years old, with a straight nose, thick brows, and dark skin. He wore python-patterned robes, and his whole body emitted a powerful energy.
The young prince sneered. Suddenly, he struck out with his hand, landing a blow on the guard’s face. The guard fell heavily to the ground, his face swollen and bleeding. His head fell to the side; he had been knocked out.
Beside him, the other guards backed up, shock on their faces. They had long known that the Young Prince was audacious; he had no respect for anyone in the Imperial City. Today, they learned the true extent of his arrogance. The tall guard had only spoken one sentence, and he had been knocked unconscious.
The Young Prince glared at the three remaining guards before walking inside the Phoenix Palace with an old man who had been standing behind him.
The other three guards ground their teeth, finally deciding that they would still better stop the Young Prince. Otherwise, if the Third Princess were angered, there would be hell to pay.
The young prince continued to walk forward. Without even turning his head, he threw another blow behind him, releasing a massive hand of vital essence and knocking out the three guards.
The young prince had been enjoying himself elsewhere when, suddenly, he heard from a servant that a young man had been invited up to the Phoenix Palace to meet with the Third Princess. He wanted to see just who this man was.
Chapter 1629: The Young Prince Looking For Trouble
Translator: Noodletown Translated Editor: Noodletown Translated
The young prince moved quickly. In the blink of an eye, he was on the third floor of the Phoenix Palace. The guards, unable to stop him, had been knocked out with ease.
As for the Phoenix Palace’s servers and manager, they were scared witless.
These people here today, they were all important figures; whether it was the Third Princess drinking tea on the third floor or the young prince who had just appeared. None of them were individuals that the manager could afford to displease. As it was, he could only hide and avert his eyes, pretending that he didn’t know anything.
The young prince stood on the third floor, staring at the Third Princess before him. “Cousin,” he said. “You should know that I’ve always admired you. I even asked the Emperor for your hand in marriage. But now, you’re here with some other man. I am very upset.”
Hearing the young prince’s words, the Third Princess’s eyes flickered with rage.
She glared at the young prince, her eyes cold. “I’ve never said that I admired you,” she said, indifferently. “Nor did I agree to your proposal. What is it to me if you are upset?”
A shadow crossed over the young prince’s face. He hadn’t expected that his cousin would treat him with such disrespect. He couldn’t believe that she would mock him and say she didn’t like him in front of other people.
The young prince was furious. Not toward the Third Princess; he didn’t dare. But he focused the flames of his rage upon Qingfeng Li.
“Where did this country bumpkin come from,” he said, his voice cold and mocking as he stared at Qingfeng Li. “There is mud on you, too. How dare you bring your filth into the Phoenix Palace? This place is only for the nobility.”
In the face of the young prince’s mockery, Qingfeng Li remained silent. Beside him, however, Black Puppy perked up in rage. They were eighth level spirit emperor realm masters! How dare this young prince humiliate them?
Walking in front of Qingfeng Li, Black Puppy lifted a paw toward the young prince. “Where did this dog come from? What, can’t you talk like a human? How dare you talk to my friend like that? Watch me suffocate you with my fart!”
The young prince’ face darkened, a hint of anger appearing in his eyes. He had been talking to Qingfeng Li. What he did not expect was for Qingfeng Li to treat him like he wasn’t even there.
Not only that, but a dog had walked out from beside him and berated him. He was about to explode with rage.
The young prince looked at Black Puppy, murderous intent in his eyes.
“You little mutt,” he said coldly, “You’re asking for it. I’m going to skin you and turn you into dog kebabs.”
He swung out with his right hand, releasing a massive vital essence fist. It came at Black Puppy with Emperor Class force.
Black Puppy pursed its lips in disdain. He had recognized that the young prince was only at the Seventh Level of the Spirit Emperor Realm, a level beneath itself. He was no match for the puppy.
The puppy stood there calmly, motionless. He was imitating Qingfeng Li, acting like some peerless grand master. His arrogant expression nearly made the young prince blow up with rage.
The young prince’s vital essence hand had arrived before Black Puppy, just a moment away from hitting its head and killing it. It was then that Black Puppy finally moved, but not to lift a paw to attack; rather, it opened its mouth instead.
Black Puppy’s mouth turned into a gaping maw, biting down hard on the young prince’s vital essence hand and eating it.
It chewed a few times, and the vital essence was completely disintegrated by its teeth. The vital essence was turned into wisps of energy that was absorbed into Black Puppy’s body.
Seeing this, the young prince let out a shrill cry. He did not expect his attack to be eaten by Black Puppy. He could not accept such flippant mockery to be directed at him.
With a thought, the young prince produced a long blade from his interspatial wristband. The weapon was exceptionally long, at nearly two meters, and was engraved with golden solar seal scriptures.
A strong energy radiated from this golden long blade, piercing the heavens.
Even the roof of the Phoenix Palace was torn apart by this blade energy; it left a large hole in the ceiling. It was evident how terrifyingly powerful this blade was.
The third princess’s expression changed.
“Young Prince,” she said loudly. “What are you doing? That Supreme Class spiritual treasure was gifted to your father by the Emperor himself. Why are you attacking innocent people with it?”
“Today, I will use this Supreme Class weapon to slay this Black Puppy,” the young prince said. “It had the balls to eat my vital essence attack; this mutt is insulting me!”
Activating his vital essence, the young prince abruptly swung his golden long blade before him, releasing a beam of golden blade energy.
The golden blade energy seemed to contain a miniature red sun, swirling with scorching heat, just like a real sun.
This golden long blade had been forged in a Magma Sun-Well with supreme-class black steel. After it had been forged, it was etched with golden solar seal scriptures, taken from Mars. The weapon was extremely powerful.
When the golden blade energy materialized, it soared before Black Puppy instantly, tearing fissures through the air.
Black Puppy’s expression changed. It knew that, with its current strength alone, it could not withstand an attack from a Supreme Class Spiritual Treasure.
It did not expect a simple young prince to have such a weapon. If it had known, the puppy would not have insulted him; he wouldn’t have caused trouble for no reason.
Beside the puppy, Qingfeng Li furrowed his brow. Naturally, he wasn’t about to stand by and watch Black Puppy get injured. So he took a step forward and put himself in front of Black Puppy protectively.
Raising his right hand, Qingfeng Li reached forward and grabbed the golden blade energy in his hand. No matter how the blade energy struggled, it could not escape his grasp.
Closing his hand, Qingfeng Li applied pressure and shattered the golden light in his grip. The light faded away into dots of golden light, disappearing into the sky over the Phoenix Palace.
Seeing this unfold, the young prince’s expression shifted to one of shock. He was a Seventh Level Spirit Emperor and was well aware of how powerful his Supreme Class Spiritual Treasure was.
Supreme Class Spiritual Treasures could slay any master of the Spirit Emperor Realm. How was it that, against this man in front of him, its attacks were so easily shattered? He found the situation difficult to believe.
Qingfeng Li looked at the young prince with a smile.
“Your attack is too weak,” he said,” Why don’t you leave, I don’t feel like killing anyone today.”
Hearing Qingfeng Li’s words, the young prince let out a bellowing laugh. His eyes, however, glowed viciously.
“You are really full of yourself,” he said, his voice cold. “Can you really kill me?”
In the last attack, the young prince had only used half of his full strength. And he had only used the golden long blade to release blade energy. He hadn’t used any blade techniques, so he was planning to attack again to show his true power.
Sneering, a piercing energy radiated from the young prince as he walked toward Qingfeng Li.
Chapter 1630: Defeating the Young Prince

“Golden Sun Mirage Blade Technique!”
The young prince shouted as he swung down heavily before him with his golden long blade. A golden ray of blade energy appeared; it was extremely powerful and tore through space in an instant.
And it wasn’t just one blade mirage that the young prince had released, but four. They came at Qingfeng Li from all four directions: East, West, South, and North.
Near by, the Third Princess and Princess Red-Swallow both paled. They knew of the power of the Golden Sun Mirage Blade Technique. It was a technique once used by King Ning.
King Ning’s power was ranked in the top three in the entire country. In his time, he had slain a Spirit Supreme Realm Devil, annihilated three powerful countries, and settled many a rebellion. His name was known and respected throughout the country of Lingyun.
As King Ning’s son, the young prince had naturally also practiced the Golden Sun Mirage Blade Technique. And, it seemed, that he had somewhat mastered it. King Ning doted on his son, not only giving him his beloved Supreme Class blade, but also teaching him his most powerful technique.
A hint of worry appeared in the Third Princess’ eyes, but only for a moment. Only Qingfeng Li, and no one else, had noticed the change.
Qingfeng Li had been studying the Third Princess’s reactions the whole time. He had noticed that she seemed to really care about him.
He guessed to himself that this Third Princess could very well be Mengyao Xu. Even if it wasn’t her, the Third Princess must have been someone who had been close to him somehow. Otherwise, she wouldn’t show such care toward him.
“Be careful,” the Third Princess used voice transmission to warn him. “This is the Golden Sun Mirage Blade Technique. It creates four nearly-identical blade mirages. If you can’t judge correctly which is the real one, you will get hurt.”
Qingfeng Li nodded, his expression calm, as he wasn’t overly worried.
Using his clairvoyance ability, he looked ahead of him. Qingfeng Li’s eyes began to emit a golden glow, and he could see through the void and clearly discern the four golden blade mirages.
He found that only the golden blade mirage slashing toward his back was real, the other three were fake.
Ignoring the blade mirages to his front, left, and right, Qingfeng Li spun around and, raising his right hand, released a black light. This was the Seventh Strangle Hell Fist Technique’s hell talisman script’s light.
Before now, when he punched out, the light had always been golden. Now a change had taken place. The light on his fists had turned black and were even more durable and powerful than they had been when the light had been golden.
Qingfeng Li’s right fist swung toward the golden blade mirage that had been aimed at his back. With a loud boom, the golden blade mirage was shattered by the collision.
The young prince’s expression changed. “How could this be? How could you withstand my Golden Sun Mirage Blade Technique?”
The young prince was a master of great renown within the Imperial City. He was exceptionally strong. But Qingfeng Li’s fists had been able to block his attack with surprising ease. This was not what he had expected.
“Young Prince,” Qingfeng Li said, smiling. “Your blade technique won’t cut it. Why don’t you try something else?”
A hint of malice appeared in the young prince’s eyes. “You got lucky just now,” he said. “That’s how you were able to withstand my blade technique. There’s no way you can block the next one.”
Mobilizing his vital essence, the young prince poured it all into the Golden Sun Blade. He swung it repeatedly toward Qingfeng Li.
Countless beams of golden blade energy appeared in the air. Front, back, left, right; East, West, North, South. Like a swarm of locusts, the cleaved toward Qingfeng Li from all directions.
Although there were many blade mirages, Qingfeng Li could see all of them clearly. With his clairvoyance ability, Qingfeng Li’s eyes glowed a golden light. He saw that only the blade mirage furthest to his left was real and that the rest were fakes.
Qingfeng Li’s body abruptly turned to the left. Raising his right fist, he emitted a chilling hellish energy. With a single blow, he shattered the real blade mirage, and the others vanished of their own accord.
An odd look came over Princess Red-Swallow’s pretty face. “Third Princess,” she said. “This Qingfeng Li is so powerful. He just stood there and, without even moving, broke the young prince’s blade technique with ease.”
The third princess nodded, a complex mix of emotions in her beautiful eyes. She had known all along that Qingfeng Li was strong, but she never thought that he had become this strong.
The blade technique that the young prince used was of the Supreme Class. But before Qingfeng Li, it was like the attack of a child. It wasn’t even able to touch him.
The young prince stared at the fading blade mirages, dumbfounded. He then looked down at his Golden Sun Blade, as if verifying that the attack he had just used was indeed the Supreme Class blade technique.
The Golden Sun Mirage Blade Technique was capable of destroying heaven and earth; even killing a master of the Spirit Emperor Realm was a cakewalk. How was it that, before this man, it could do no damage?
Qingfeng Li smirked.
“I just told you,” he said. “You are too weak. I don’t feel like killing anyone today. Get lost, or you’ll be sorry.”
The young prince’s expression darkened. He knew now that he had encountered a powerful foe. The man before him was no weaker than his own father. But as the son of King Ning, the young prince had his own pride to uphold. He could not back down, otherwise, he would lose face.
“Profound Theory Cultivator,” the young prince turned around to the grey-robed old man with him. “Get rid of this man for me.”
The old man in grey was the young prince’s bodyguard. Well, technically, he wasn’t a bodyguard. He was a powerful master that the young prince’s father had once saved. Since then, he had been staying at the King Ning Manor.
Profound Theory Cultivator was very powerful, he had reached the First Level Supreme Realm and was renowned throughout the entire Imperial City.
Profound Theory Cultivator nodded, taking a step forward. This caused a crack to appear on the floor of the Phoenix Palace.
The ground in the Phoenix Palace was paved from millennia-old crystals; it was extremely durable. Ordinary weapons wouldn’t even be able to scratch the material. Astonishingly, under the pressure of Profound Theory Cultivator, it had actually cracked. In fact, it looked like it was about to collapse.
Behind the bamboo curtain, the Third Princess’ expression changed. “Profound Theory Cultivator,” she shouted. “You are a master of the Supreme Realm. How could you raise your hand against someone so much younger than you?”
Profound Theory Cultivator glanced at the Third Princess. “I obey only the young prince,” he said. “And one does not humiliate a master of the Supreme Realm.”
A hint of worry appeared in the Third Princess’ eyes. She knew that once self-cultivators reached the Supreme Realm, they no longer took orders from anyone. Not even the emperor himself could force Profound Theory Cultivator to obey his orders. He would only obey those stronger than himself.
“Profound Theory Cultivator,” the Third Princess said, her voice cold. “The Phoenix Palace was built under the orders of my father, the Emperor. Just now, you’ve damaged it, this is treasonous disrespect. Are you certain you wish to oppose the Emperor?”
The Third Princess’s words made Profound Theory Cultivator furrow his brows. True, he was a master of the Supreme Realm’s First Level, But the current Emperor was a master of the Third Level Supreme Realm, two levels higher than even himself. Naturally, he was no match for him.

Chapter 1631: Contesting the Supreme Realm
Translator: Noodletown Translated Editor: Noodletown Translated
Profound Theory Cultivator knew that, while he could disrespect the Third Princess’s authority, he could not do the same to the His Imperial Majesty.
After all, the Emperor had invested heavily in the construction of the Phoenix Palace. Just now, he had already emitted his Supreme Realm energy in order to intimidate Qingfeng Li, damaging the building in the process.
Profound Theory Cultivator glanced at the Third Princess. “On your account,” he said, “I promise that, if Qingfeng Li can withstand one strike from me, I will leave.”
The Third Princess opened her mouth, seeming to want to say more, but was stopped by Qingfeng Li waving his hand. To anyone else, Profound Theory Cultivator may be an extremely powerful foe, but Qingfeng Li was not afraid.
If the opponent had been a Third Level Supreme Realm master, Qingfeng Li might not have been a match for him. But right now, the opponent was only a First Level Supreme Realm master. With his current strength, Qingfeng Li could still withstand him with the Strangle Hell Fist.
Qingfeng Li smiled. “Swing your fist, then,” he said.
Seeing the confidence on Qingfeng Li’s face, a hint of displeasure appeared in Profound Theory Cultivator’s eyes.
He was a master of the Supreme Realm; self-cultivators had always treated him with respect. Even in all of Lingyun, he was a powerful figure, but Qingfeng Li did not seem to be concerned about him at all.
Gathering his immense vital essence into his fist, Profound Theory Cultivator intended to use one powerful attack to mortally wound Qingfeng Li. Even if it didn’t kill him, he intended to inflict serious injuries or to break his bones.
The energy radiating from Profound Theory Cultivator was very powerful. This was the energy of a master of the Supreme Realm. Li Yang and Princess Red-Swallow both backed up; they were the weakest people in the room and were completely unable to withstand the onslaught.
Inside the Phoenix Palace, tables, chairs, and stools were all shattered by the barrage of energy, reduced to fragments and then disappearing. Even the Palace itself began to wobble; cracks appeared on the floor under the force of a master of the Supreme Realm.
Just then, an old man in green appeared out of thin air. The figure abruptly raised both hands and crossed them, creating a massive defensive energy veil.
A strange light radiated from the defensive energy veil. The figure threw the energy veil down heavily and enveloped the Phoenix Palace, protecting it against Profound Theory Cultivator’s Supreme level energy.
The Third Princess’ eyes lit up. “Grand Chamberlain,” she exclaimed. “You’re here.”
The white-haired old man nodded toward the Third Princess with a smile.
This was no ordinary old man; he was the head of staff of the Emperor of Lingyun. His power was unfathomable.
He had also studied arrays during his younger years. Just now, he had used a protective array to block the power of the Supreme Realm energy and preserve the Phoenix Palace.
Profound Theory Cultivator gazed at the white-haired old man, a glint in his eyes. He knew that the other was a powerful master. Luckily, he had not forcibly destroyed the Phoenix Palace just now. Otherwise, the arrival of the old man would have been extremely problematic.
Profound Theory Cultivator swung his right fist casually. His movements appeared slow, but were in reality extremely quick. He appeared, not in the air, but in the void.
This was the Void Fist, capable of moving from one dimension to another, but only within a short distance of about fifty meters.
Traversing the void for long distances required a massive amount of vital essence and spirit energy. Even a master of the Supreme Realm could not do so. That was something only saints or immortals could accomplish.
Qingfeng Li was startled, as well, when he saw the old man appear in the void; he hadn’t expected him to have mastered a technique like the Void Fist.
It was a good thing that Qingfeng Li had his clairvoyance, and that he had studied spatial seal scriptures; he was able to see the fist techniques being used in the void clearly. Otherwise, he would have been in big trouble.
“Seventh Fist to Shatter the Body!” Qingfeng Li shouted.
And before him, there appeared a massive black fist. The fist seemed to be a thing from Hell, extremely powerful, but uncanny and chilling. This black fist collided with the Void Fist, resulting in an ear-shattering boom. The entire world seemed to be shattered, the space crackling like a broken mirror.
Fortunately, the Phoenix Palace was protected by the grand chamberlain’s defensive array and was therefore undamaged.
Even so, the violent energy radiated outward in all directions.
Li Yang and Princess Red-Swallow both let out a cry as they fainted, heads lolling to the side; Their faces pale were pale, and blood leaked from their mouths.
Black Puppy’s expression also shifted. It backed up repeatedly, unable to withstand the energy released by a battle between two masters with strengths in the Supreme Realm.
Only two individuals were able to endure this onslaught; they were the Grand Chamberlain and the Third Princess.
Qingfeng Li furrowed his brows. He glanced at the Third Princess, a hint of shock in his eyes.
It had to be said that the Seventh Fist of Qingfeng Li’s Strangle Hell Fist had offensive power equivalent to that of a Supreme Realm First Level master. And this fist had collided with Profound Theory Cultivator’s own Void Fist.
The resulting energy was positively earth-shattering, enough to destroy a large mountain. Yet the Third Princess was unharmed; how strange.
Qingfeng Li could sense that the Third Princess had many secrets, whether she really was Mengyao Xu or not. There were many things about her that were difficult to believe.
What Qingfeng Li did not know was, as strange as he found Mengyao Xu, other people actually thought the same of him.
In the eyes of outsiders, Qingfeng Li was just a young man, just twenty or so, he shouldn’t be too strong. But the abilities he had exhibited, whether it was in combat or his attacks, or his techniques or physical prowess, they all exceeded others of the same level by far.
Profound Theory Cultivator looked at Qingfeng Li, shock in his eyes. He knew full well the power of his Void Fist. Once, he gravely wounded a Supreme Ream First Level master with it, and the victim had taken him a full year to recover.
Profound Theory Cultivator could clearly sense that Qingfeng Li was just at the Spirit Emperor Realm’s Eighth Level. He had not yet even reached the Supreme Realm. How was it that he was able to withstand his Void Fist?
The battle between Qingfeng Li and Profound Theory Cultivator was extremely heated. The vicious energy they exuded spread in all directions, alerting many masters in the Imperial City.
At this moment, the Imperial City held many powerful hidden organizations, such as the Martial Alliance, the House of Elixirs, the Array Formation Union, and the Spiritual Treasure Union.
These organizations’s influence were not limited to just the country of Lingyun; they had branches all across the Crimson Fire Continent.
Many had already noticed Qingfeng Li. This was due to his age; at only around twenty years old, he could hold his own against a master of the Supreme Realm First Level. Even the Emperor could not have done so in his youth. This was no doubt a rising superstar, well worth throwing an olive branch to.
Qingfeng Li looked at Profound Theory Cultivator standing in front of him. “You’ve thrown your fist,” he said nonchalantly, “and you haven’t defeated me. Now, you can leave.”
Hearing Qingfeng Li’s words, the old man’s face flashed green and white alternately. He was respected by many in the Imperial City, but now, he was being mocked and spurned by Qingfeng Li.
“Young Prince,” Profound Theory Cultivator said, throwing a cold glance at Qingfeng Li. “Let us leave.”

Chapter 1632: The Martial Alliance’s Invitation

When he heard Profound Theory Cultivator telling him to leave, the young prince’s face fell. He did not want to leave. But the old man’s attack had not defeated Qingfeng Li, there was nothing else he could do.
“You just wait!” The young prince glared at Qingfeng Li. “This isn’t over.”
Then, the young prince turned and left the Phoenix Palace with Profound Theory Cultivator in tow.
As for Qingfeng Li, he merely smiled at the young prince’s threat. His expression was calm, and he wasn’t worried at all. If it wasn’t for the Third Princess’ sake, he would have taught the young prince a harsh lesson just now.
What Qingfeng Li intended to do today was find out who the Third Princess really was. Nothing else really mattered to him.
He gazed at the Third Princess and asked a question, “Are you Yaoyao?”
A mix of emotions appeared on the Third Princess’s face as she glanced at Qingfeng Li. She did not remove her veil, but rather turned and walked away.
Qingfeng Li took a step forward, intending to catch up to her, but was stopped by Princess Red-Swallow’s outstretched hand.
“Qingfeng Li,” Princess Red-Swallow said with a smile. “The third princess has other business to attend to. Do not follow any further.”
Qingfeng Li did not pay heed to Princess Red-Swallow. His body moved forward, leaving a trail of mirages. In an instant, he had moved past Princess Red-Swallow and appeared elsewhere.
But in the next moment, Qingfeng Li stopped. In front of him stood an old man. He had a head full of white hair and a face full of wrinkles. It was the grand chamberlain; mysterious, powerful, and a master of array formations.
Qingfeng Li could sense a fierce energy coming from the grand chamberlain, more powerful than even Profound Theory Cultivator he had just met.
Looking at Qingfeng Li, the Grand Chamberlain spoke. “Little guy. That was the Emperor’s orders just now, he has summoned the Third Princess for a meeting. Whatever questions you may have, you can ask them later. I am rather fond of you.”
Then, the Grand Chamberlain’s merged into the void, vanishing from sight.
When Qingfeng Li tried to walk forward again, an invisible barrier appeared, blocking his way. It was an obstructive array formation.
Qingfeng Li furrowed his brows. He hadn’t expected the Grand Chamberlain to have set a barrier before leaving.
Using his own knowledge of arrays, Qingfeng Li looked ahead. He found, however, that this obstructive array formation was in fact a Spirit Supreme Class array. Seeing the Spirit Supreme Class talisman scriptures flickering within, Qingfeng Li knew this would be tough.
Qingfeng Li knew that, if he wanted to decrypt this array formation, it would take at least half an hour. By then, the Third Princess would have long since arrived at the Imperial Palace.
The Imperial Palace itself was completely enveloped in the energy field of a mysterious array formation. Qingfeng Li could not decrypt the array around the Imperial Palace, not without the help of the Dark Night Emperor.
But, for the time being, Qingfeng Li did not intend to enter the Imperial Palace. It was, after all, the domain of the Emperor. According to rumors, the Emperor was very powerful, having reached the third level of Spirit Supreme Realm more than a decade ago. And, in the many years since then, it was highly likely that the Emperor could have had a breakthrough again.
Qingfeng Li turned around. Walking to Li Yang’s side, he lifted her right hand and transfused his own vital essence into her body, calling her back to consciousness.
When Li Yang woke up, she stared up at Qingfeng Li with gratitude. She used to be just a prodigy from the Mercury who had ascended to this high-tier planet. She originally wanted to join a supreme class sect, but those powerful Sects hadn’t wanted her. It was Qingfeng Li who had then saved her life, and so she ended up following him.
To Li Yang, a master of the Supreme Realm was all-powerful. But, today, she realized that there was an all-powerful master right beside her.
Qingfeng Li was astonishingly strong. As a master of the Spirit Emperor Realm, he was able to withstand the attack of a master of the Supreme Realm. If he were to reach the Supreme Realm himself, wouldn’t he then be unmatched by anyone of the same realm?
Li Yang swore to herself that she would follow Qingfeng Li no matter what. Only by his side, could she climb higher. Then, she could return to her home planet, Mercury, and avenge her parents.
Qingfeng Li patted Li Yang’s shoulder. Then, he led her and Black Puppy downstairs.
Inside the Phoenix Palace, everyone looked at Qinfeng Li with reverence. The strong were respected no matter where they went, especially masters like Qingfeng Li, who were capable of standing against a master of the Supreme Realm. He was an absolute monster.
Shortly after Qingfeng Li left the Phoenix Palace, he was stopped by a middle-aged man.
The man was about forty years old; his face was sharp, with thick black eyebrows. He wore clothes made of coarse fabrics and gave off a rough air.
Muscles bulged from his body; each of his arms was as thick as a grown man’s thigh. He was nearly two meters tall and, standing there, he looked like a miniature iron tower, giving off a strong oppressive aura.
Around them, passing self-cultivators were all startled when they saw the man. They either backed away or gave him a wide berth as they passed, not daring to get too close.
Qingfeng Li frowned and a questioning look appeared in his eyes. He could clearly sense that this middle-aged man before him was a master of the Supreme Realm.
As expected of the Imperial City of Lingyun, they could run into another Supreme Realm master so easily. This was unlike more remote areas like Greater Luo City, where self-cultivators were all very weak.
Qingfeng Li stopped walking. Staring at the bulky man before him, he asked, “Who are you? What business do you have with me?”
The middle-aged man smiled, “I’m the Branch Vice-Commander of the Martial Alliance.”
Hearing the words “Martial Alliance,” Qingfeng Li raised an eyebrow. He stared at the man questioningly; he had never heard of this organization before and wondered what they did.
Seeing the expression on Qingfeng Li’s face, the middle-aged man appeared surprised. “Have you never heard of the Martial Alliance?”
Qingfeng Li shook his head, indicating that he didn’t know anything about it, and hadn’t heard of it before.
The bulky man now looked at him like he was a hermit that had just walked out of the wilderness somewhere. He sighed; he hadn’t expected that someone so strong had actually never heard of the Martial Alliance.
“Then I’ll introduce you to the Martial Alliance briefly,” the man put on a smile as he spoke with an air of pride. “The Martial Alliance is one of the superpowers of the Crimson Fire Continent. Our Commander-in-Chief is the most powerful Spirit Royal Realm master. We have branches in every Imperial Court and Imperial City across the land. Only prodigies with the greatest physical strength are invited into our ranks.”
Hearing the bulky man’s words, Qingfeng Li suddenly understood; he had a basic idea of what this Martial Alliance was.
He had long known that, where there were people, there would also be differing interests; and where there were interests, there was conflict. Conflicts led to groups being formed, and those groups knotted together like the interwoven roots of an ancient tree.
Earlier, Qingfeng Li had used his physical strength to contest the young prince’s blade technique. He had then withstood a blow from a master of the Supreme Realm. Therefore, he had been put into the sights of many of the organizations within the Imperial City.
The first to appear was the Martial Alliance; they were a group that was focused on physical prowess. They had an insatiable desire for physical strength, and Qingfeng Li had met their standards.
