Chapter 508: Xue Lin Encountering Ruyan Liu

 

“Qingfeng, where did you go today?” Xue Lin asked Qingfeng when she saw him.

She planned to go to work with Qingfeng this morning. However, her mother told her that Qingfeng had left at 5 in the morning. He did not go to work either so she naturally, she had to ask him about it.

“Daoist’s teacher is sick so I went to treat him,” Qingfeng explained with a smile.

Xue Lin nodded and did not ask any more questions. She had met Daoist before, who was Qingfeng’s bro.

The two of them walked to the parking lot and left the company in the BMW.

“Qingfeng, let’s go to the grocery store first,” Xue Lin said.

“Why are we going to the grocery store?”

“Let’s buy some vegetables. We have to cook dinner tonight.”

“I thought mother-in-law is at home?”

“My dad called me today and told me that my grandfather is sick. He was admitted to the hospital so my mother went to take care of him,” Xue Lin said.

Even though one of Xue Lin’s grandfather was dead, she still had a grandfather alive. However, he seemed to have had poor health recently.

Qingfeng nodded in understanding. To be honest, he was happy to have mother-in-law taking care of them the past few days. They did not have to worry about cleaning or cooking.

Since his mother-in-law has left, the task landed on the two of them again.

Qingfeng quickly drove the car towards the grocery store.

Since it was the evening, there were many people who worked in the morning shopping inside the grocery store.

“What kind of vegetables do you like?” Qingfeng asked while holding a grocery basket.

“Let’s buy some broccoli and eggplant,” Xue Lin said with a smile.

Broccoli was known as the ‘King of vegetables”. Even though it was more expensive than other kinds of vegetables, it was rich in nutrition and could aid in preventing cancer.

As an ancient Chinese doctor, Qingfeng was knowledgeable about nutrition. He quite like broccoli.

Qingfeng chose a few bunches of broccoli and eggplant as well as some other vegetables.

They also needed meat and seafood. Qingfeng bought some scallops, squids, and shrimps. He planned to cook Xue Lin a seafood dinner.

Suddenly, Qingfeng stopped in his tracks. He spotted a familiar figure. It was Ruyan Liu. She was shopping alone in the vegetable section.

It was like there was a spiritual connection between the two. At that moment, Ruyan Liu raised her head and spotted Qingfeng. Her charming face was filled with delight. Clearly, she was happy to see Qingfeng.

Ruyan Liu smiled charmingly and said, “What a coincidence. You are also shopping for groceries?”

Qingfeng smiled awkwardly and said, “Yeah, what a coincidence. You are shopping here too?”

Qingfeng felt really awkward. He never expected to meet Ruyan Liu at the grocery store.

To Xue Lin’s surprise, Ruyan Liu’s face lit up with happiness when she heard her words. She said, “Miss Lin, you are awesome! Why don’t I go to your home tonight? You can introduce me a boyfriend.”

Xue Lin was slightly speechless. She said, “No, Miss Liu. How could I look down at you? Our companies still have a partnership.”

“If that’s the case, I will have dinner at your home tonight,” Ruyan Liu said with a charming smile.

Even though Xue Lin was reluctant, she could not reject Ruyan Liu’s idea. If she said no, she would appear stingy and afraid of Ruyan Liu.

“Alright, come to my home for dinner tonight,” Xue Lin said gloomily.

Chapter 509: Fighting Whenever They Meet

 

Ruyan Liu followed Qingfeng and Xue Lin as they shopped around the grocery store.

The three of them knew one another so they did not think much of it. However, other people in the grocery were not so calm.

Ruyan Liu and Xue Lin were both gorgeous beauties. They were the most beautiful women in Eastern Sea City. Beauties attracted attention wherever they went and many people in the grocery store looked at the three of them in surprise.

Not only were the men envious of Qingfeng, the women were envious of Xue Lin and Ruyan Liu. They were too beautiful. They had silky pale skin and seductive figures in contrast to their own sallow skin and fat figures. Xue Lin and Ruyan Liu were much more beautiful than the other women in the grocery store.

Qingfeng furrowed his brows; he felt uncomfortable as there were too many people looking at him in the grocery store. Dozens, if not hundreds of sets of eyes were on them. The eyes were all filled with envy.

Xue Lin and Ruyan Liu also furrowed their brows. They were also uncomfortable with the attention. The people seemed like they were ready to pounce on them. So, they followed closely behind Qingfeng.

The trio quickly gathered the food and left the grocery store.

They sighed in relief after they left the grocery store. Finally, they were free from the envious looks.

Qingfeng and Xue Lin drove the BMW while Ruyan Liu drove the Maserati. Soon, they arrived at the mansion.

Qingfeng, Xue Lin, and Ruyan Liu sat in the living room. They were all uncomfortable. Xue Lin was uncomfortable because Ruyan Liu was at her home. Ruyan Liu was uncomfortable since it was her first time at Xue Lin’s home.

The three of them sat on the sofa and looked at the vegetables on the table. They all pondered and thought about what to say. They can’t wait awkwardly here all night.

As the host, Xue Lin was the first to speak. She said, “Who is cooking tonight?”

“I’m the guest. Shouldn’t you cook tonight?” Ruyan Liu said to Xue Lin.

Xue Lin’s expression turned cold. She said, “Miss Liu, you want me to cook for you?”

“Miss Lin, why can’t you cook for me? I’m the guest tonight.”

“Miss Liu, I’m sorry. I don’t feel very well these days so I can’t cook.”

“Sigh, I really wanted to taste your cooking. It seems like I won’t have the chance tonight,” Ruyan Liu said in disappointment.

Amongst Xue Lin and Ruyan Liu’s surprised looks, Qingfeng grabbed the vegetables and seafood. Then, he headed towards the kitchen and prepared to make a seafood dinner.

He first added water to the rice cooker. Then, he added rice and sweet potato to make a sweet potato porridge.

As the porridge was getting cooked, Qingfeng started to prepare the seafood. He first placed the scallops in the water so that they would release the dirty substances. Then, he started to prepare and slice the squid.

Qingfeng was busy in the kitchen while Xue Lin and Ruyan Liu were battling in the living room.

Even though Xue Lin did not like Ruyan Liu, she still prepared a cup of tea for her. She said, “Here, have some tea.”

“Thank you. This tea tastes delicious. It would be great if I can have it every day,” Ruyan Liu exclaimed as she took a sip of the tea.

Xue Lin learnt from her mistake and remained silent after hearing Ruyan Liu’s exclamations. She did not invite Ruyan Liu to come over for tea.

When Ruyan Liu saw that Xue Lin did not extend another invite, she knew that Xue Lin was on alert. There was no way around it, both had their eyes on Qingfeng so they were destined to fight over him.

“Your living room decorations are very nice. Can you show me around?” Ruyan Liu asked.

Xue Lin smiled faintly. She knew that Ruyan Liu was about to attack again. However, she was unafraid. This was her home.

“Okay, I’ll show you around.” Xue Lin stood up and led Ruyan Liu around the living room.

Xue Lin’s living room was simply decorated. The walls were white, the floors were white, the chandelier was also white. Just like her name, her home was the color of snow. It made one felt at peace.

Ruyan Liu could tell that Xue Lin was a cold and OCD person from the renovations of the living room.

As they walked around the house, the two arrived at Qingfeng’s bedroom. Ruyan Liu had a keen eye. She immediately saw a light handprint on the door. The handprint was left behind by someone who frequently opened the door.

Did someone stay in this room?

Ruyan Liu’s eyes darted as she pushed open the door. Xue Lin wanted to stop her but it was too late. Ruyan Liu had already entered the room.

The room was not big. It was slightly messy. There was only a bed, a table and a computer in the room.

Suddenly, Ruyan Liu’s gaze narrowed. She had spotted Qingfeng’s camo outfit in the room.

Qingfeng’s clothes were in this room. This meant that he slept here at night. However, she did not see Xue Lin’s clothes.

Could it be that Xue Lin does not sleep here at night?

An incredulous thought appeared in Ruyan Liu’s mind. She suddenly said, “Miss Lin, where do you sleep at night?”

Clearly, Xue Lin did not see the strange glint in Ruyan Liu’s eyes. She said lightly, “I sleep in the bedroom on the second floor.”

Bedroom on the second floor? Just as I expected, Xue Lin has not slept together with Qingfeng, thought Ruyan Liu. This discovery made her quite happy.

Chapter 510: Introducing a Boyfriend to Ruyan Liu

 

Xue Lin was speechless when she saw that Ruyan Liu did not believe her words.

She knew that she should not have showed Ruyan Liu around the house. Who would think that Ruyan Liu would enter Qingfeng’s bedroom during the tour?

Ruyan Liu looked at Xue Lin and could tell what was on her mind. But Xue Lin had spoken so she could only nod in agreement and return to the living room with her.

The two arrived at the living room and sat down on the chairs. Xue Lin was slightly upset while Ruyan Liu was quite delighted since she discovered Qingfeng and Xue Lin’s secret.

In her eyes, it was normal for men and women to sleep together. There must be something wrong if they were not sleeping together.

“Dinner is ready. Come and try my stir-fried scallop, spicy squid, stir-fry eggplant and steamed broccoli,” Qingfeng said as he happily placed the dishes on the dining table.

When he arrived in the living room, he saw that one woman was unhappy while the other was quite delighted.

Huh? Did they fight again?

Qingfeng looked between them and realized that something was amiss. He brought out 3 pairs of chopsticks and gave a pair to everyone.

“Let’s eat,” Qingfeng said with a smile.

Xue Lin cast a glance at Ruyan Liu and suddenly said, “My elbow is still injured, help me.”

Qingfeng did not think much about it. He knew that Xue Lin was injured. Since she asked her to help her with the dishes, he picked up some food and placed it on her plate.

“Here, have some scallops. It’s very nutritious,” Qingfeng said as he picked up a scallop and placed it on Xue Lin’s plate.

Scallops were very nutritious and beneficial for the brain, skin and even had anti-cancer properties. Thus, Qingfeng bought quite a few scallops today.

Even though Xue Lin was already very beautiful, she would become even more beautiful after eating scallops.

Xue Lin instantly felt better after eating the scallop Qingfeng got for her. A smile appeared on her face.

“The scallop you made is delicious,” Xue Lin praised. Of course, she did not forget to cast Ruyan Liu a provocative glare.

“See, Ruyan Liu, Qingfeng has given me a scallop but you can just look at it,” Xue Lin thought happily.

Ruyan Liu was initially happy. However, her mood dampened when he saw Qingfeng helping Xue Lin eat. She was upset when she saw Xue Lin’s happy smile.

“Miss Liu, I need to rest now. Why don’t you go home?” Xue Lin said with a smile as she rubbed her full tummy.

Ruyan Liu’s expression changed. Truthfully, she did not want to leave. She wanted to spend more time with Qingfeng. However, she was only a guest at Xue Lin’s home; she couldn’t refuse to leave Xue Lin’s home.

“Alright. Thank you, Miss Lin. I will invite you over to my home for dinner when you are free,” Ruyan Liu said with a smile.

Xue Lin had invited her for dinner today. Naturally, Ruyan Liu had to invite Xue Lin over for dinner sometime.

Xue Lin nodded and said, “Alright, I will go to your home when I’m free. But I hope that you will cook a meal personally. I look forward to tasting your cooking.”

Xue Lin walked Ruyan Liu to the door and said, “Miss Liu, you must be quite lonely without a boyfriend. I will introduce you a boyfriend sometime.”

Ruyan Liu wanted to turn down her offer but she couldn’t say anything since she came to Xue Lin’s home so that Xue Lin could recommend her a boyfriend.

Ruyan Liu’s brows tensed up after hearing that Xue Lin wanted to help her find a boyfriend.

Xue Lin was happy because Ruyan Liu accepted her offer, but then she realized that her requirements were talking about Qingfeng Li.

Xue Lin was mad that Ruyan Liu wanted Qingfeng Li as her boyfriend.

“Miss Liu, your standards are too high. I will try though.” Xue Lin said with a hint of dissatisfaction.

“Sounds good. When you do, please tell me.” Ruyan Liu smiled and left.

I left as swiftly as I came. Ruyan Liu felt satisfied as she left because she felt she got an advantage over Xue Lin.

Being jealous was in every woman’s blood; no one was the exception. Xue Lin and Ruyan Liu were the same.

Xue Lin shut the villa’s door and went back into the living room. She sat on the sofa with a gloomy face.

“What is wrong, did someone make you mad?” Qingfeng Li sat beside Xue Lin and asked.

Xue Lin looked at him and said, “What do you think?”

Qingfeng Li touched his nose and didn’t say anything. He didn’t want to lead the fire onto himself.

“Qingfeng, what exactly is the relationship between you and Ruyan Liu?” Xue Lin’s brows tensed up and asked.

Qingfeng Li was stunned and didn’t know how to answer. This was because the relationship between them was too complicated and he couldn’t explain it in a short period.

Facing Xue Lin’s query made him nervous. He couldn’t say the truth because Xue Lin would get mad. He was going to make up an excuse.

“Ruyan Liu and I are just friends, business partners.” Qingfeng Li said unconfidently.

Xue Lin wasn’t satisfied with his answer because she didn’t believe him.

“Qingfeng I am disappointed. Tonight, you will stay in the room on the first floor. Come to me only when you decide you will tell me the truth.” Xue Lin said.

After Xue Lin finished, she walked towards the second floor bedroom.

“Little red riding hood, please give me another chance and let me go to the second floor.” Qingfeng Li said loudly.

He slept with Xue Lin on the second floor bedroom because of mother-in-law and he was happy. But now because of Ruyan Liu, he had to move to the first floor once again.

“Big bad wolf I am not happy because of Ruyan Liu. So you will now sleep on the first floor.” Xue Lin glared at Qingfeng Li and closed the door to her room. She left Qingfeng Li with a view of her back.

A woman was scary when she got jealous. Qingfeng Li was depressed.

He knew that Xue Lin was definitely jealous. Thus why he could only admit his wrong and sleep on the first floor.

Just when Qingfeng Li entered his first floor bedroom, a message came saying, “You are sleeping on the first floor bedroom tonight?”

Qingfeng Li opened the text and saw it was Ruyan Liu who sent it. He replied, “This is all because of you.”

“I just went to your place to eat a meal. How could you blame me?”

“Xue Lin was jealous because of you and she made me sleep on the first floor.”

“That’s sad. How about you come over tonight.”

“It’s fine. She would kill me if she didn’t see me in my room tomorrow morning.” Qingfeng Li smiled and replied.

The two were texting happily. To be honest, Qingfeng Li really did want to head over to Ruyan Liu’s place, but he decided not to after remembering Xue Lin.

Xue Lin was extremely pissed today; he wasn’t planning to piss her off even more.

After a night of rest, Xue Lin’s jealousy finally decreased a bit. In addition, Qingfeng Li prepared her breakfast. Thus she decided to forgive him for now.

Xue Lin took a bite of the fried egg and said, “Not bad.”

“Here, have another one then.” Qingfeng Li smiled and gave Xue Lin the egg on his plate.

When they were about to go to work after finishing breakfast, Qingfeng Li’s phone rang.

Qingfeng Li took out his phone and answered, “Hello, who is this?”

“Mr. Li, I am Miaochun Zhang from the Medical University. Please remember to attend and teach today’s lesson.” Miaochun Zhang said from the other side of the phone.

Guest professors were different from a university professor. They were ones that normally worked in society and would be invited to teach in the university.

Qingfeng Li must have done something special in order to be invited to be a guest professor.

Xue Lin’s guess was right. Qingfeng Li was able to shock Miaochun Zhang by saving the little girl’s mom from epilepsy. Precisely, it was his 9 acupuncture points of epilepsy that shocked Miaochun Zhang.

“Big bad wolf. you are pretty good, getting invited to be a guest instructor.” Xue Lin praised him.

Xue Lin was happy that Qingfeng Li was invited personally by Miaochun Zhang because it was good for her reputation as well.

Next time she goes out, she could claim that her husband was a guest professor. It would drown her in glory.

Sometimes, status was more important than actual wealth. A doctor would be respected more compared to a millionaire because the doctor could save lives.

“Little red riding hood, now you know how good I am. Being my wife is the best choice you made.” Qingfeng Li smiled and said.

“So confident after only a few praises. Fine, I will give you a break today so you can go to the Medical University.”

“Thanks.”

“Wait. When you go, you cannot flirt with the students.”

“Don’t worry I will for sure reject them once they start flirting with me.” Qingfeng Li smiled and left the villa.

Before he left, he took an umbrella because it was raining outside. He prepared one for Xue Lin as well.

Qingfeng Li walked outside and stopped a taxi.

The driver was a man in his 40s. He was fat from not moving for long periods of time. This was a norm within the driver occupation.

This driver’s name was Dafu Wang. He was Qingfeng Li’s driver multiple times now and knew how much money Qingfeng Li gave. Wealthy people like Qingfeng Li didn’t care how much he gave.

“Yo, where do you want to go today?” Dafu Wang asked.

Qingfeng Li sat at the back and nodded, “The Medical University.”

“Sounds good, sit tight.” Dafu Wang said and started driving towards the Medical University.

Dafu Wang’s phone rang after a couple of minutes. He wasn’t planning to answer, but answered after he saw the caller ID.

“Hey son, what’s the matter?” Dafu Wang said happily. This was because it was his son who called.

“Dad, the family car broke. Can you come pick me up to go to school?” the son said from the phone.

Dafu Wang’s face changed because he was working right now. He would waste time if he were to go pick up his son.

As a taxi driver, he had his responsibility, but he wasn’t sure how to reject his son either.

Qingfeng Li heard their conversation. Qingfeng Li liked this driver who drove for him multiple times.

“Mr, which university is your son in?” Qingfeng Li asked.

“My son is a student at the Medical University.” Dafu Wang said proudly.

The Medical University was the best university in Eastern Sea City. People from outside the city wanted to attend as well.

Every resident in Eastern Sea City dreamed about having their children attend Medical University. Even though the driver wasn’t a wealthy individual, he was proud that his son attended Eastern Sea City Medical University.

Qingfeng Li knew how Dafu Wang felt. For people like him, it was a huge accomplishment that their children were able to attend a top university.

“Mr, I am going to Medical University as well. You can bring your son with us as well.” Qingfeng Li said.

“Thank you so much. You are so kind.” Dafu Wang smiled.

After 10 minutes they arrived at Dafu Wang’s home. One could conclude the area was cheap from the old houses.

Even though the house was old, there was a brand new Volkswagen sedan parked at the front door. It was bought recently.

Qingfeng Li was confused because he knew Dafu Wang didn’t make much. How could he afford a car like this?

There were two people standing in front of his house. One was a guy in his 20s, the other was a girl that was fashionable. She had a red purse in her hand.

“Father, why are you so slow. Little Yun and I have to go to school.” Seeing his father’s taxi just arrived made him mad.

His name was Hong Wang. He was the son of Dafu Wang. The girl beside him was his girlfriend, Yun He. Both of them were students of Medical University.

“Little Hong, I am sorry. I had a customer so I was a bit late.” Dafu Wang didn’t want to make his son mad and apologized.

Qingfeng Li felt weird hearing Dafu Wang apologizing to his son. The father shouldn’t need to apologize to his son. Even if Dafu Wang was wrong, it didn’t mean his son was right.

Hong Wang nodded after hearing his father apologize and said, “Tell your customer to get another taxi. We need to go to school quickly.”

What, you want me to tell my customer to get another cab?

Dafu Wang’s face changed because he wasn’t happy about his son’s request.

Dafu Wang spoiled his son because his wife died early. He would get whatever his son wanted. He even borrowed a loan to get his son a car.

Even though he spoiled his kid, Dafu Wang was a responsible man with strong work ethics. He couldn’t ask Qingfeng Li to leave.

Chapter 513: Disciplining Hong Wang

 

“Dad, let’s go. Ask your guest to get another cab and drive us to school.” Hong Wang said with an impatient tone.

Dafu Wang bit his teeth and said, “I can’t. I accepted him already.”

“Dad, you’re going to reject me?” Hong Wang was surprised.

His father always accepted his requests. No matter how expensive the request was, his father would think of a way to get it for him. He couldn’t believe his father rejected his request for a customer of his.

“Little Hong, this guest is also going to Medical University as well. I can drive you guys there together.” Dafu Wang hoped his son would accept his request.

Hong Wang said loudly, “No, my girlfriend Yun He is a clean freak. There can only be us two in this taxi.”

Dafu Wang’s face became ill. He was just praising his son in front of Qingfeng Li, but he didn’t think his son would be so ill-mannered.

Dafu Wang was mad because if it wasn’t for his son, they would have arrived at Medical University already.

Dafu Wang wasted Qingfeng Li’s time because of his son, making him feel shameful. It made him mad that his son told the customer to get off.

“Dad did you hear me or not. Drive us to Medical University.” Hong Wang became impatient.

Faced with his son’s impatience, Dafu Wang shook his head and said, “Unless you let Qingfeng Li stay, I will not drive you guys.”

Hong Wang was even more enraged and said, “Dad, who exactly is your son. You won’t drive me because of a guest?”

“Little Hong, I accepted Qingfeng Li already and promised to drive him. This is a problem of responsibility and morals. I can accept your other requests, but not this one.” Dafu Wang said with resolution.

Qingfeng Li praised Dafu Wang in his head after hearing what he said. He didn’t think someone would be so responsible in the current society.

“Hong Wang it is almost time for class. Just let Qingfeng Li stay.” Yun He said.

She looked at the time and found out they didn’t have much time left. She rushed Hong Wang to not be late.

Hong Wang nodded and knew they couldn’t be late. He said, “Fine I will let Qingfeng Li stay. Drive us to Medical University ASAP.”

Dafu Wang nodded. He was happy that his son agreed to let Qingfeng Li stay.

Dafu Wang opened the door and let Qingfeng Li sat in the passenger seat. He said, “Sorry that I wasted your time.”

Qingfeng Li shook his hand and said, “Don’t worry.”

Dafu Wang thanked him again and said, “Thank you for understanding us taxi drivers. Today’s fee is on me.”

Qingfeng Li didn’t say anything. For him the money didn’t matter, he wanted respect and service. Even though Dafu Wang’s son wasn’t respectful, Dafu Wang was.

Qingfeng Li, Hong Wang, and Yun He headed for Medical University in the taxi.

It was raining and there were puddles on the road. The cars were driving slowly.

Dafu Wang was driving slow as well because he was scared to get stuck in the puddle. In addition, he was scared that he might hit other cars. Thus why he could only slow down.

After one hour they finally arrived at their destination.

Normally Dafu Wang only needed 40 minutes to get here, but this time he used another 20 minutes.

“Dad, this is all your fault. Now I am late.” Hong Wang said with dissatisfaction.

Qingfeng Li couldn’t bear it anymore because this whole trip Hong Wang was blaming his father.

Being a father was a mighty role. Qingfeng Li’s father was gone when he was eight, but he was still thankful for him. Without his father, there wouldn’t be him.

“Hong Wang, your father tried his best. It was raining hard today. Shouldn’t you try to understand him a bit?” Qingfeng Li’s brows tensed up and he said.

Hong Wang’s face changed and he said, “Who gave you the right to teach me things?”

“I am your father’s guest. Of course, I have the right.”

“My father had a lot of guests. Does that mean every guest can scold me?”

“You were blaming your father this whole trip, but your father didn’t say anything back. Shouldn’t you think about what you did?” Qingfeng Li said coldly. His tone was starting to fill with rage.

Hong Wang’s face changed and said, “I am a student of Medical University and I cannot be late. Who do you think you are to compare with a student like me?”

Medical University’s student? Go f*ck yourself.

If it wasn’t for Dafu Wang, Qingfeng Li was going to give him a beating.

“Do you think a student of the university is something to be proud of? I am this university’s guest professor.” Qingfeng Li smirked.

What, guest professor?

Hong Wang’s face changed and was filled with disbelief. He said, “B*llshit. All the professors were in their 60s and 70s. someone young like you must be lying.”

“I really am a guest professor.” Qingfeng Li said again.

“Keep boasting. If you are the university’s professor, then I am the teacher of the Ph.D. students.” Hong Wang was filled with disbelief.

His girlfriend, Yun He, didn’t believe Qingfeng either. Both of them thought Qingfeng Li was lying.

Qingfeng Li was going to say a bit more, but the taxi arrived at the front gate. He needed to get out and thus ignored them.

“Hong Hong, look, principal Miaochun Wang is standing at the gate.” Yun He’s face changed after she saw the principal.

Hong Wang focused his view and saw the principal as well. His face changed.

“Yun He. Do you think the principal is checking who is late? Why is he standing there with an umbrella?” Hong Wang was anxious.

Yun He shook her head and said she didn’t know as well. They were scared because they were late. It would be bad if the principal saw them.

Chapter 514: Personal Welcome From the Principal

 

Qingfeng found it funny when he saw Xu Wang and Yun He were terrified. Well, wimps haven’t seen the big world. How could they be scared by just a principal?

“What are you smiling at? This is the principal of the Medical University,” Hong Wang said unhappily.

In Hong Wang’s mind, the principal, Miaochun Zhang was the god that controlled his life. He was terrified of him as he was a student in the University of Medicine, yet a random guy was actually laughing when he saw the principal. He was kind of mad about it.

“Don’t worry, Miaochun is coming to greet me, not because you are late,” Qingfeng said calmly while looking at both of them.

“Qingfeng, I know you like making things up. You just said you were a professor and now you are lying again? Who do you think you are that even the principal would come to greet you, huh?” Hong Wang shook his head and looked at Qingfeng in a sarcastic way.

Qingfeng waved his hand and stopped listening to him. He really had no time for this petty person and was not going to spend time to convince him.

Qingfeng gave 50 Yuan to Dafu Wang for the drive and got off the taxi. Dafu insisted on rejecting the money but Qingfeng still left it on the seat. He knew that Dafu was working hard and still had a son living with him.

Qingfeng always felt compassion for vulnerable people since he arrived in Huaxia.

When Qingfeng just got off the taxi, Miaochun felt surprisingly happy and walked to Qingfeng.

“Hong Wang, the principal is coming, what should we do? Is he coming to blame us for being late?” Yun He said worriedly.

“Damn, we are done if we are caught by the principal himself,” Hong Wang looked hopeless.

Yet, Miaochun didn’t see Hong Wang nor Yun He. He only had Qingfeng in his vision at the moment.

“Mr. Li, you are finally here, I’ve been waiting for you for half an hour at the gate,” Miaochun walked quickly to Qingfeng and said excitedly. He seemed happy that Qingfeng came to the University of Medicine.

Qingfeng nodded and said, “Principal Zhang, I’m sorry. There was a lot of traffic on such a rainy day.

“Don’t be bothered, it’s all good as long as you can come. Let’s go to chat in my office,” Miaochun smiled kindly and led Qingfeng.

Qingfeng smiled and walked with him to the school building.

“Yun He, am I dreaming? Did the principal just say he had been waiting for Qingfeng for half an hour?” Hong Wang had his mouth opened wide and couldn’t believe what he saw.

Yun He nodded robotically, “Yes, and he even came for him in person. He wouldn’t even do that for those medical experts from the Hunan Province.”

Hong Wang and Yun He stared at each other and could sense the fear and amazement from each others eyes. They were both frightened.

Principal Miaochun was already a phenomenal existence to them, but now, this phenomenal character was guiding someone who they had mocked. They couldn’t accept this shock.

“Hong, I’ve told you there are skies beyond our sky and there are people greater than us. This Qingfeng dude wasn’t a simple guy, you even said he was lying. See that? He was even led by your principal, could he be a regular guest?” Dafu said deeply.

He looked like he was taking this easy but he was also in shock. The principal of the University of Medicine was well-known in Eastern Sea City and had even been showed on TV.

Hong Wang didn’t argue against his father this time since he also felt the that Qingfeng was not a simple character. He looked at Yun He at the same time and walked towards the campus.

“Mr. Li, welcome to our University of Medicine. Our school is the best in Eastern Sea City as well as one of the top ten universities in Huaxia…” Miaochun introduced the school to Qingfeng while walking.

Qingfeng kept nodding while listening to her. He knew something about this university. This was a place where most doctors in Eastern Sea City graduated.

Soon, they both arrived at the office. The office was packed with people. There were roughly more than ten men and women.

They were all around their 50s or 60s, even the youngest ones was in their 30s. Everyone was wearing glasses and looked educated and wise.

“Hello, everyone. Let me introduce you, this is our new guest professor I had just invited, Qingfeng Li,” Miaochun smiled and announced in the room.

However, no one clapped after hearing what Miaochun said. They all looked at Qingfeng with suspicion and scrutiny in their eyes.

Guest Professor? Are you kidding me? Could someone young like that be a guest professor?

In fact, those who could be invited to the principal’s office were no simple characters. They were all professors and leaders from different faculties and programs.

Some of them had started as a teacher and became a professor after working for more than 40 years. Now, you are going to let a 20-year-old young man be a professor? Are you looking down on us?

Miaochun looked slightly bitter after seeing nobody was clapping for Qingfeng. However, he didn’t want to make them upset either since he knew these people were not only professors but also leaders in this field.

Although, Qingfeng wasn’t bothered whether people applaused for him or not. To be honest, he wouldn’t have came here if he wasn’t invited by Miaochun.

Qingfeng didn’t care about these people while these people looked at him with dissatisfaction.

A 50 year-old man stood up and pushed his glasses, “So, your name Qingfeng, right? I wonder what made you become a professor here.”

“My ability had already been proven to Principal Miaochun, I don’t need to prove it to you again,” Qingfeng said with a faint smile.

“You are too young, I don’t think you are able to be a professor here,” the senior smiled and said sarcastically.

In fact, he was 58 years old now and had just become a professor at the University of Medicine. He had spent his lifetime working hard so that he could one day become a professor. Therefore, he felt unbalanced as he saw a 20 year-old young dude become a professor as easily as Qingfeng did.

Qingfeng smiled and said, “Are you jealous of me?”

Excuse me? Jealous of you?

The senior felt humiliated. What do you mean I am jealous of you? I’m a magnificent professor in the field of Chinese Medicine! Who are you, little brat?

Chapter 515: He is Really a Professor

 

“Young man, you think I’m jealous of you? Let me tell you, you weren’t even born when I was teaching in the Chinese Medicine Department,” the senior said madly.

He felt Qingfeng was being too arrogant and didn’t know how to respect his seniors. I’m the senior professor here so show me some respect, young man!

However, Qingfeng smiled and said, “If you aren’t jealous of me, why would you think I am not capable to be a professor? I think you might not be capable, though.”

Everyone freaked out. Besides the principal Miaochun, everyone else was getting annoyed. Not only was the senior mad, the rest of the people in the room were all annoyed since Miaochun let the young man he had just brought in become a professor.

Miaochun tried to mediate the conflict once he felt the bitter atmosphere, “Professor Chen, you are an admirable professor. Why would you argue with a young man?”

The senior was called Liang Chen. He said calmly after he heard Miaochun, “Principal, I’m not arguing with him. This young man doesn’t know anything and was acting so arrogant to me. I’m afraid he will mislead our students if he becomes a professor.”

“What a joke! Did you say I’d mislead students? I have more knowledge than you do,” Qingfeng smiled and said angrily.

All these senior professors didn’t like Qingfeng but Qingfeng didn’t like them either. If so, there was no point to be respectful to each other.

“Did you hear that, principal? Look at his attitude, he has more knowledge than me? Do you think it’s possible? I’m an authority of the Chinese Medicine Department,” Liang Chen said angrily.

Miaochun frowned and also felt that what Qingfeng said was a bit off. After all, Liang Chen had been teaching in this field for decades and was highly knowledgeable of Chinese Medicine. He even knew more than the principal in the field of Chinese traditional herbs.

Right now, he certainly wouldn’t accept this humiliation when Qingfeng said he had more knowledge than him.

“Principal! This child must be lying, I suggest we disqualify him as a professor.”

“Right, we don’t need liars in our university! I suggest the same thing.”

“Principal, just don’t let him be our guest professor. He will mislead our students.”

All the senior professors went to the same side as Liang Chen. They all supported Liang Chen while being skeptical of Qingfeng.

Miaochun didn’t know what to do. Qingfeng was invited by him as the guest professor, yet, now he was being rejected by all of the seniors. What a shame.

Qingfeng wasn’t interested in being a guest professor in the beginning. He didn’t really care whether he was offered this position or not.

However, since all these senior professors wanted to dismiss him, he felt extremely mad, as if he could explode anytime.

Qingfeng smiled bitterly and said loudly, “Listen, I’m taking this position for sure.”

Miaochun became frustrated seeing Qingfeng and all the senior professors start fighting. He had seen Qingfeng performing the nine acupuncture points for epilepsy and deeply admired his acupuncture skills since he couldn’t even do that.

But at this moment, Miaochun wasn’t so sure whether Qingfeng was familiar with other studies such as traditional Chinese medicine, disease science, clinical science, etc. Meanwhile, Liang Chen was an expert in the field of Chinese medicine. These two people obviously were countering each other.

“Look, don’t even try to become a guest professor in the University of Medicine as long as I am here,” Liang Chen said coldly as he sneered.

Miaochun felt like things were getting worst. Qingfeng insisted being the guest professor while Liang Chen strongly disagreed. He felt too frustrated at the moment.

All the sudden, Miaochun brought an idea. “Professor Chen, so you think Qingfeng isn’t qualified to be the guest professor, right? I have a method which you could use to test his knowledge.”

“Principal, please tell me.” Liang Chen said while smiling vaguely.

“What about giving Qingfeng a chance to have a lecture in the Chinese Medicine Department? You all could be the judges. If he is knowledgeable enough and can teach the students well, then you all have to let him be the professor. If not, then he would be disqualified,” Miaochun said while laughing faintly.

All the professors in the office agreed on this and thought it would be a good idea after they heard Miaochun.

“Alright, I can let Qingfeng have one lecture for the students in the Chinese Medicine Department. If the students understood well, then I’d let him become the guest professor, “Liang Chen said with a subtle smile.

He felt like it could be a great idea to disclose Qingfeng, who was a liar in his mind.

Everyone else also agreed with this idea besides Liang Chen. They all thought it was doable.

Miaochun slightly smiled when his idea was approved, “Then I’m going to arrange the class schedule. Meet with me in the Chinese Medicine Department in half an hour.”

After, Miaochun left the office and talked to the professor of the Chinese Medicine Department, Qingya, Ye. He told her there would be a guest professor giving a lecture to her students today.

Qingya was thrilled when she heard a guest professor would come to provide a lecture for her students. She organized all her students in the class and let them waited for the professor.

At the moment, the classroom of the Chinese Medicine Department was packed with students. They all received the notice from Professor Qingya that there would be a guest professor giving them a lecture.

“I heard a new guest professor is coming for a lecture today. Do you know him?”

“Nope, maybe he was recently invited by the principal.”

“No way, who would be big enough to be invited by the principal.”

All the student in the class started to discuss and look suspicious.

There were dozens of professors in the University of Medicine, each of them was a leader in different scientific fields, though, none of them had been personally invited by the principal.

However, a new guest professor was now actually invited by him in person. The students were all shocked and curious about who this person was.

Half an hour later, those senior professors went into the classroom and sat at the front. They were going to judge how Qingfeng was going to lecture.

Finally, Miaochun brought Qingfeng in the classroom and announced loudly, “Hello, everyone. I’m going to introduce a new guest professor to you all, he is Qingfeng Li.”

All the students were shocked. They didn’t expect his young man on his 20s was the guest professor. The classroom suddenly went into chaotic and everybody started to discuss him since they had never seen such a young professor.

“He is the professor for real?” Hong Wang and Yun He sitting at the back looked at each other and couldn’t believe what they saw.
