Chapter 516: Qingfeng Li’s Chinese Medicine Lecture

 

“Yun He, Qingfeng is really the guest professor. He wasn’t lying in the taxi,” Hong Wang said to his girlfriend, who was sitting beside him.

Yun He nodded as she also felt extremely surprised.

Certainly, besides Hong Wang and Yun He, Xiaoman Lu who was sitting in the classroom also felt shocked.

Xiaoman knew who Qingfeng was since she had received a lot of help from him yet, she would never expect that he was actually a professor.

They were glad to see Qingfeng being embarrassed in front of the class.

“Let me ask you guys, what is Chinese Medicine?” Qingfeng slightly smiled and asked the first question.

What is Chinese Medicine?

All the students in the class looked at each other and felt confused. What is the new dude doing here? They certainly would know what Chinese Medicine was since they specialized in this program.

“Chinese Medicine is to save people by using Chinese herbal decoction.”

“Right, it also saves people by using acupuncture.”

Everyone started to discuss their opinions about Chinese Medicine in the class.

All the sudden, Xiaoman spoke up loud, “Professor Li, what do you think Chinese Medicine is?”

Nobody approved of Qingfeng as a professor except for Xiaoman.

Everybody looked straight at Xiaoman after hearing what she said. They definitely knew her since she was the most beautiful girl in the whole university. If it was somebody else calling Qingfeng a professor, they would have already snapped at her/him. Yet, they didn’t say anything since it was called out by Xiaoman.

Qingfeng nodded and said loudly in the class, “Xiaoman has asked a great question. So many of you have shared your definition of Chinese Medicine, but to me, it is too partial.”

After hearing what Qingfeng said, somebody immediately got irritated. a short-hair guy stood up and said loudly, “If you said our definition is partial, then explain what do you think Chinese Medicine is to us.”

Qingfeng looked at him and said calmly, “Chinese Medicine is a traditional medical science in Huaxia. It is the study of human physiology and pathology that uses the Ying, Yang and five elements as a function, through observing, smelling, questioning and feeling to analyze the viscera of the internal organs of the human body and treat all kinds of diseases.”

All the students’ froze after listening to the explanation of Qingfeng. Qingfeng had articulated out the essence of the Chinese Medicine which was way deeper than what they thought.

Gradually, there were dozens of students clapping hands for Qingfeng, which was more than a half of the previous number.

“For the class today, I’m not going to lecture. Instead, I’m going to answer all of your questions in terms of Chinese Medicine. You can ask me any questions you have?” Qingfeng smiled faintly and said to the students.

All the students were shocked when they heard what Qingfeng said. They have never experienced this novel way of lecturing. In the past, professors or TA would usually just start their lecture and write down the class content on the blackboard, which was kind of dry and boring. The way how Qingfeng taught was actually really new and interesting.

As the hardcore fan of Qingfeng, Xiaoman was the first one to stand up. “Professor Li, I wonder what theories are there in Chinese Medicine and which genre you think is the best?”

Qingfeng looked at her gladly and was grateful for her intelligence. She looked like she was just asking him a question, but in fact, she was giving Qingfeng a chance to show his knowledge to the class.

Qingfeng looked around the class and said, “Chinese Medicine is divided into several theories including Qi Theory, Essence Theory, Ying and Yang Theory, Five Element Theory, Blood and Viscera Theory and Pulse Theory and so on. Each theory has its own genre and its own technique to treat patients. There is no way to figure out which one is the best, but whether the practitioner has profound knowledge or not.

What Qingfeng said this time received more applause. Hundreds of people were clapping for him now, which was nearly 1/3 in the class.

At this moment, the short-hair guy stood up again and asked loudly, “You said there is no way to figure out which genre is the best, then let me ask you, what theory are you in, could you tell what is wrong with my body currently?”

“I am in all theories, I learn every single Chinese Medical Theory. In terms of your condition, are you sure you want me to disclose your privacy?” Qingfeng smiled vaguely and said.

The short-haired guy froze and felt slightly nervous when he saw the confidence from Qingfeng yet, he got his courage back after seeing the eyes of Liang Chen. He asked, “Then tell me, what’s wrong with my body.”

The classroom suddenly burst into a roar of applause. This time, more than 100 people, which was even more than half of the class, were clapping for Qingfeng.

Everyone in the class froze and looked shocked. They knew students were supposed to be the one to ask Qingfeng questions today, but now, even Liang Chen was asking him questions.

Qingfeng looked at Liang Chen and responded calmly, “Fatigue and kidney problem, also known as Kidney deficiency, should be divided into whether it is Yang kidney deficiency or Yin kidney deficiency. Qingfeng smiled faintly and explained the Chinese medical treatment to both types of kidney deficiency.

Liang Chen’s face froze and he looked awkward. He was trying to find something that Qingfeng had said wrong yet he couldn’t find anything since Qingfeng answered everything right.

After seeing Qingfeng slay the question asked by Liang Chen, a grey-hair senior professor sitting next to Liang Chen stood up and said loudly, “Qingfeng, what you are saying now is just some theories and verbal knowledge, we need a demonstration in Chinese medicine. I suffer from Lumbar Disk Herniation. If you could heal it, I’ll approve your expertise.”

This grey-hair professor was the oldest professor as well as the most prestigious out of all other professors in the University of Medicine. Everyone clapped when he asked Qingfeng to demonstrate his treatment.

“Alright, if you want a practical application, I can cure your issue for free this time,” Qingfeng smiled lightly while walking to the side of the senior professor.

“Qingfeng, how are you going to treat my lumbar problem?”

“The problem of a Lumbar Disk Herniation can only be alleviated but never permanently solved if we are only using Chinese herbal decoction. I’m going to cure it with acupuncture.”

“Don’t worry, if I didn’t cure you lumbar issue by 20 minutes, I’ll leave this place. If I do, you have to support me to be a guest professor here,” Qingfeng said calmly and confidently.

The senior professor nodded and agreed. He knew his issue couldn’t even be cured by the other senior professors, but if Qingfeng could, then he was definitely qualified to be a guest professor.

All the students started to gather in front to see how Qingfeng was going to demonstrate his skill by curing the senior professor. They all looked at him curiously and wondered how he would do it.

Qingfeng took out nine acupuncture needles and inserted each of them in nine different points of the professor’s body. He then slightly twisted the tail of the needles with his right hand. The needles were slightly trembling.

Professor Yang looked shocked and said, “Nine Needles of Heaven Fate is a special treatment in Chinese acupuncture. One needs to control nine needles simultaneously and make the needle tails tremble. I wouldn’t even be able to do that.”

What? Even Professor Yang wouldn’t be able to do that?

All the students were shocked from head to toe. If not even professor Yang, the head professor of the Acupuncture Department in the University of Medicine could do what Qingfeng could, how superior was Qingfeng’s acupuncture skill?

Each of the nine needle was trembling on Qingfeng’s hand and was transferring a novel energy to the senior professor’s body. It was healing his torn annulus fibrosis and Lumber Disc Herniation.

“Not at all, no pain, no stiff, no fatigue. Qingfeng, you are a medical genius,” the senior professor said happily while touching his recovered lumbar that made him feel extremely comfortable.

“Well, I have already healed your lumbar issue. Will you support me to be the guest professor at the University of Medicine then?”

“Of course, Qingfeng, you are far from being just a guest professor with your skill and expertise.”

“Thanks for your approval,” Qingfeng smiled and responded.

Qingfeng had defeated Liang Chen with his knowledge and theories as well as healed the senior professor’s lumbar issue with his acupuncture skill. He had proven his Chinese medical skill through actual demonstration.

*Clap Clap Clap*

All the students in the class, including Principal Miaochun, ten other professors and Qingya stood up and clapped for Qingfeng.

The whole classroom was buzzing because of the applause. It was recognition of Qingfeng as well as the greatest compliment for his Chinese medical skill.

Chapter 518: Girls Falling For Qingfeng

 

Qingfeng had proven himself in front of the students and the professors enough to be accepted as a guest professor in the University without disagreement.

“Qingfeng, I mean, Professor Li, you only need to give one lecture on Mondays in the future. You can arrange the rest of your schedule,” Miaochun smiled and said to Qingfeng.

Guest professors were different than regular professors in the University. Regular professors would need to have daily lectures for students since they were the directors of each program. Yet, guest professor would only need to have one lecture per week since they were just hired to teach in the school.

Certainly, a guest professor could also hold more lectures if they had time.

Qingfeng nodded as he understood. He was about to leave the class, yet, the students were enthusiastic and kept asking him to give more lectures.

Qingfeng didn’t want to reject these vigorous students so he continued holding one more class.

Of course, Qingfeng didn’t just hold a traditional lecture by teaching students. Instead, he encouraged students to ask him different questions and he would answer them one by one.

Many students were passionate and continued asking various questions, some of the questions were complicated but they were still answered by Qingfeng effortlessly. All the students were amazed by his intelligence and completely changed the way they viewed Qingfeng.

The class was finally finished through the interactions between Qingfeng and the students. Many students still wanted it to last longer and they all thought it was the best class they’ve ever had.

After the class, Qingfeng found Xiaoman. He smiled to her, “Xiaoman, how’s it going these days?”

Xiaoman shook her head and said frustratingly, “Not good at all, you don’t even come to see me.”

Qingfeng touched his nose since he felt a bit embarrassed. “Xiaoman, I’ve been so busy recently, but I will see you every week since I will start teaching here.”

Xiaoman flushed her face and became happy once she heard Qingfeng would be coming to the class every week. She didn’t ask for much as long as she could see Qingfeng.

Qingfeng wanted to leave but he was persuaded to stay by Xiaoman. He eventually decided to walk around the campus with her.

Honestly, Qingfeng never went to university and had always been looking forward to a life here. He felt everything here was novel and was completely different than where he was living now.

People said that university was the last pure land of the society. Once people graduated and entered the real world, they would become sophisticated.

The next class would be Physical Education. Qingfeng was about to leave when the class bell rang, but the tug-of-war competition between the Chinese Medicine Program and Western Medicine Program suddenly caught his attention.

Each program sent out ten people, and they started to pull the rope to complete each side.

Since there were mostly girls in the Chinese Medicine program and they were skinny, compared to the Western Medicine program which was packed with tall and strong guys, the guys pulled the rope to their side instantly.

The Western Medicine Program won twice consecutively.

It was a best three out of five game. The Western Medicine program would win if they scored one more time.

Since Xiaoman was the leader of the class, she would definitely think for her class. She asked Qingfeng, “Big brother Li, could you help us out?”

Qingfeng nodded and walked to the front. He represented the Chinese Medicine Program since he was a professor in that program.

The students in the Western Medicine Program were all tall and muscular and didn’t even look Qingfeng in the eye. It wouldn’t make a difference adding one more person to them.

But some girls did go a bit crazy when Qingfeng stood at the side of the Chinese Medicine team since he looked good and has a good posture.

“Go,” when the judge announced the start of the game, both teams started to pull the rope.

Qingfeng tightened the rope with his right hand and pulled intensively. The rope immediately was pulled to his side effortlessly.

“Round three, Chinese Medicine Program won,” the judge announced loudly while still being in shock.

To be honest, the Chinese Medicine team had lost twice consecutively before Qingfeng joined them. Now, they won drastically after he participated. Qingfeng was undefeatable.

“Professor Li, go! Knock down the Western Medicine team,” students in the Chinese Medicine Program cheered for Qingfeng since they knew him already.

Students in the Western Medicine team were all rubbing their fists. They were ready to win this round back since they had lost once and didn’t feel like being the loser.

The fourth round has started. Qingfeng has easily won the round by slightly pulling in the rope.

In the fifth round, Qingfeng did the same thing and their team won again.

Qingfeng had won three times consecutively and helped Chinese Medicine team beat the Western Medicine team. They became the winner of this tug-of-war game.

Everyone in the Chinese Medicine program was thrilled while people in the Western Medicine program were upset.

In fact, even though this tug-of-war was merely a game, it represented a battle between these two programs.

The Chinese Medicine program were separate from the Western Medicine program, and they had different methods of diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, it caused conflicts and battles between these two programs, to the point that neither of them would be willing to let the other side win.

In the past, students from the Western Medicine program always took advantage of the Chinese Medicine program in physical education class since there were mostly girls in that program. Now, Qingfeng had finally taken the revenge for them.

“Professor Li, how could you have so much strength?”

“Right? Those who in the Western Medicine program just looked tall and tough but are actually weak like chickens. See how you’ve beaten them right away!”

“Professor Li, do you have a girlfriend? What do think about me?”

The Chinese Medicine students burst into a discussion. They were just flattering Qingfeng and now had switched to some topics about his personal life. Some girls even tried to introduced themselves to be Qingfeng’s girlfriend and looked at him affectionately.

Qingfeng froze for a second, he looked at them in amazement, yet still feeling slightly happy. How charismatic am I that I still get so much attention from these girls even after I told them I am already married.

“Excuse me, I’m going home. My wife is still waiting for me,” Qingfeng squeezed himself out of the crowd.

Chapter 519: Call From Ruyan Liu

 

Qingfeng left the university and walked to the Ice Snow Corporation. He promised Xue Lin that he was going to pick her up after work.

It was 5 pm when he arrived at the Ice Snow Corporation and people were still working.

Qingfeng decided to go to the security department first to greet his brothers there.

Hao Luo couldn’t hold his laughter as his chubby face kept jiggling. Qingfeng got it right. Since he married Xiaohong, Xiaohong always had meals prepared and did all the dishes and housework for him. Gaining weight was inevitable.

“You gotta lose some weight, dude. What if you crush your wife if you keep going like this,” Qingfeng sniggered.

Hao Luo flushed his face embarrassedly. He’d have punched him if he was made fun by someone else. Yet, he didn’t dare to Qingfeng, instead, he took that as a concern from him.

“Big brother Li, I have good news for you. My wife is pregnant.”

“Pregnant? Congratulations! You are going to be a father.”

“Big brother Li, thank you so much, this wouldn’t happen without you. When are you going to have one with sister-in-law?” Hao Luo asked.

Qingfeng froze his face after hearing what Hao Luo said. He hasn’t even slept with Xue Lin yet, how could they get a kid.

Qingfeng wandered around and arrived at the CEO’s office. Once he stepped in, he saw Xue Lin was reading a newspaper. She was extremely angry that even her body was subtly shivering.

“What happened? Who made you mad?” Qingfeng walked to her side and asked.

Xue Lin put down the newspaper and asked before her anger disappeared from her face, “Just read the newspaper first.”

“Okay,” Qingfeng replied while taking the newspaper. He saw the highlighted title. “Qingfeng Li, Ice Snow Corporation’s Boasting King.”

What the heck, since when I became a Boasting King? Holy crap, who is looking for trouble?

Qingfeng was reading the newspaper and found out it was called “Hu Jiang Province Evening News”, which is the largest circulation in Hujiang Province. The content he saw was about the bet Qingfeng made with Yanfei Liu, the CEO of Pheonix Corporation two days ago.

Certainly, the news was all about devaluing Qingfeng and called him a Boasting King since they thought he was bragging as saying he would beat Phoenix Corporation with a bet, which was impossible to them.

Damn, it must be made up by Feiyan Liu that crazy bitch. Qingfeng was pretty sure that woman have been holding grudges for the punishment from him after cancelling the partnership with Ice Snow Corporation. She then decided to take the revenge by writing shit on the newspaper.

“Oh, right, Qingfeng. Tomorrow will be the Provincial Antique Competition as well as the date for the bet to be revealed between you and Feiyan. Are you confident to win against her?” Xue Lin asked while frowning.

Qingfeng nodded, “Don’t worry, I don’t even take that Phoenix Corp. seriously. What I worry about is Yanzhi Pei.

“Yanzhi Pei? Why would you worry about her?” Xue Lin asked astonishingly and looked confused.

Qingfeng frowned and said, “Think about it, Yanzhi Pei is the daughter of the Pei Family in Yanjing as well as the CEO of the Phoenix Corporation, yet, she was fired and she didn’t even answer the phone. Don’t you think it’s weird?”

Xue Lin paused for a second and also realized it was a bit strange. Indeed, Yanzhi Pei had an extraordinary identity and a great background, but now, she couldn’t even be contacted and her CEO position was replaced by Feiyan Liu. There must be something going on behind the scene.”

After seeing Xue Lin getting worried, Qingfeng smiled and said, “don’t worry, I’m going to Phoenix Corporation for the Antique Competition tomorrow and will try to get some info about Yanzhi Pei from the people there.

Xue Lin nodded since there was the only way right now. They couldn’t find any other option.

The time to finish the day of work has arrived after they’ve talked for a while.

When Qingfeng and Xue Lin just walked out of the office, Xue Lin’s phone rang.

She changed her face instantly and looked unnatural when she saw the screen while letting the phone kept ringing instead of answering.

Qingfeng was curious, he peeked at her phone screen and his face also froze. It was called by Ruyan Liu.

“Qingfeng, should I answer the phone?” Xue Lin asked.

“Why not, maybe Ruyan needs you for something,” Qingfeng smiled and said.

Xue Lin nodded and pressed the “answer” button. “Ms. Liu, are you looking for me?”

“Hey, Ms. Xue Lin, you invited me for dinner last time, it’s time for me to invite you back for dinner tonight this time. Want to come to my place after work?”

Xue Lin nodded and replied, “Sure, I’ll go there with Qingfeng.”

Xue Lin hung up after while frowning as if she was concerned about something.

“I thought you wouldn’t go for the dinner she invited,” Qingfeng said.

Xue Lin smiled and said, “You don’t understand. She would think I am afraid of her if I don’t go. I am absolutely not afraid of her and must go. My goal is to beat her.”

Qingfeng rolled his eyes and looked frustrated. As long as Ruyan was mentioned to Xue Lin, she would become vigorous and couldn’t wait to beat her down. She wouldn’t feel relieved until she beats her down.

Of course, Ruyan would think exactly the same. She wouldn’t be able to sleep well until she beats Xue Lin.

“Xue Lin, why couldn’t you just get along with Ruyan?” Qingfeng asked.

“It’s good to gain weight. Chubby women are more lucky,” Ruyan Liu said with a smile.

Xue Lin shook her head and said, “When a woman gains weight, they won’t be as pretty. Men won’t like them anymore.”

Ruyan Liu furrowed her brows unhappily and thought, Xue Lin was indirectly saying that she was not pretty. How dare she?

“That’s personal preference. A lot of people said that I am beautiful. If you don’t believe me, ask Qingfeng,” Ruyan Liu said with a smile.

To Qingfeng’s dismay, she had pushed the ball to his court.
