Chapter 474 – “Send a copy to Zhang Sheng and a copy to the Huo’s.” (1)
One way or another, Mother Gu didn’t think that that was what the others thought of her.
That almost made her puke blood!
Immediately, she shook off Chen Yunping’s hand that was holding onto her. Blood rushed to her head and she ran into their car as thought she was running away from something.
Chen Yunping smiled bitterly.
She texted her husband before she got into the car and let him know that she worried that their third sister might have been rattled by the others.
[That’s good. You should invite Mrs. Gao and the others to come over more often.]
Zhang Sheng’s answer was blunt.
Mother Gu would not wake up without being rattled.
Sure enough, that very night, Mother Gu locked herself up in the room and was too angry to even eat dinner.
She spent all night thinking about it and finally figured out what it was that she needed the most right now.
If she wanted the gossiping, she had no other options but to have backbones of her own. She needed a source of income to support herself.
Everybody knew that she got nothing from the divorce, which was why they mocked her of leeching off of her brother, sister-in-law, and her maiden family, and that she did not have children who would support her.
Mother Gu had always been a prideful woman. The more she thought about the gossips, the less she could tolerate them.
She made a call to her brother and her sister-in-law first thing the next morning.
Even Zhang Sheng, who had to go in to work, had to take time off work to tend to his urgent family matter first.
“I had given it a lot of thought; I want to start a pre-school.”
After an entire night of contemplation, Mother Gu finally course-corrected part of her thinking.
Zhang Sheng’s face dropped immediately.
Chen Yunping wasn’t sure what to make of that either. “Third Sister, didn’t you just say you wanted to open up a spa yesterday? Pre-school. We have nobody in the education field in our family nor do we have resources in this area.”
“Sister-in-law, don’t worry. I will take full responsibilities of the financial outcome.” Mother Gu raised her chin, refusing to discuss the matters further. “You have nothing to worry about.”
As much as Chen Yunping had a good temper, she was close to the end of her ropes.
“Then why did you ask your brother to come over?”
Being up all night long, Mother Gu’s usually delicate face looked older and more tired than normal.
Hearing Chen Yunping’s words, she almost jumped straight up and looked like a hedgehog with all of its spines sticking straight up!
“What are you trying to say?
“I think of you as my sister-in-law but what do you take me for? Why do you think I asked my brother to come over?! All these years, I have always look at you as my sister-in-law but what about you?! You’ve always guarded against me!”
Chen Yunping covered her throbbing forehead with her hand.
“Zhang Wen, is that how you treat your sister-in-law?”
“Did you have me and your sister-in-law come over to have a fight? What was wrong about what she had said? You change your mind every day. You are someone in her fifties and had never worked a day in your life. You can’t even be a salesgirl at a counter and you wanted to open up a spa one day and a pre-school the next?!”
Zhang Sheng’s eyes widened, obviously disagreed with her.
“Have you ever taken care of a child for one day yourself? Even if you had, that was over 20 years ago. What do you know about what’s the latest trend in children education right now?!”
Zhang Sheng was an experienced businessman.
He never thought that as long as one has enough money, one could just enter into any field and just reap the profits.
Even when his son wanted to invest, he would need to look at proper business plans and reports before he gave him money. Let alone someone like Mother Gu who was completely clueless.
This was not about starting a company; this was about being a fool parting with his money!
