Chapter 188 – That would be the little secret between the two of them (1)
Behind Lu Xun was his little tail… The 13-year old adolescent boy who was already quite tall.
It was very crowded in the airport during the National Holidays. Many of them were students, and many of the girls were peeking at him. This adolescent boy was surely very popular in school.
And not just Lu Mingzhe, Lu Xun, too, was very good looking. The uncle and nephew were some ten years apart but still very much resembled each other. There were always those who would speculate the relationship between the two of them. The two of them seemed more like brothers than uncle and nephew.
“Did you tell them?” Lin Yiyi asked Ms. Lin Ping when she noticed the smile on her face the moment she saw Lu Mingzhe.
Before Ms. Lin Ping was able to respond, Mr. Gu Chengyi pushed his glasses up and said with complacency, “I told him.”
He only just mentioned it in his fishing group and hadn’t expected that Xiao Lu would have come over purposefully to see him off.
He and his wife had only informed those closest to them that they were returning to the US today.
Mr. Gu Chengyi also mentioned that he was returning to the US within his fishing friends’ group. They weren’t as upset this time that he was leaving.
Everybody was quite sad last time. Afterall, US was far from China with the Pacific Ocean being in between the two countries. As much as telecommunications were very advanced nowadays, it was still not the same as someone being nearby.
Low and behold…
Hot dang!
He returned after just one month!!
They demanded their sadness and their tears back!
All in all, the farewell this time was much more scaled back compared to the previous time.
It was quite low-key, in fact.
Mr. Gu Chengyi wasn’t too happy and called them unconscientious in his mind.
The only response he solicited was “ho ho”.
More likely than not you will be back in a month again anyway.
They’ve tried but just weren’t able to drum up any sadness about his departure!
Finally spotting them amongst the crowd, Boss Lu walked quickly and happily over to them.
“Lao Gu is leaving so soon? I have even asked around with a travel agency that I am familiar with about trips to Dali Erhai Lake. It was a very fancy tour at that. What a bummer.”
Mr. Gu Chengyi, who had been wanting very much to visit Dali, was very disappointed as well.
But Ms. Lin Ping was right there and he dared not make a peep. He had no choice but to give it up.
That being said, he did not give it up completely. He said to Lu Xun, “Next time. We will definitely go visit there the next time I come back!”
Lu Xun nodded and looked around. He saw Ms. Lin Ping and Mr. Gu Chengyi. Then there was Lin Yiyi holding onto Meng Shanshan…
“Where’s Little Yuran?”
He wasn’t used to the little wolf pup not being there making off-handed comments at him.
“He said he is going to play basketball with his friends today. He had already turned them down twice so he wasn’t able to get out of it today.”
Lin Yiyi sighed as well. “You know how my mom is. She just decided to leave this afternoon and bought her tickets right away.”
Ms. Lin Ping was too busy to pay them any attention right now.
Holding onto Lu Mingzhe’s white and tender little hand, she said longingly, “Now that I am leaving, you are the one that I worry about the most. You little uncle is not very reliable and needs you, a child, to take care of him. That pains me. You must take good care of yourself when I am not around. When push comes to shove, go look for Yiyi. She is not too capable, but her cooking is at least edible…”
Lin Yiyi, “……”
Contrary to her, Lu Xun, who was attacked to his face, didn’t care about that at all.
Now that Ms. Lin Ping was so fond Lu Mingzhe, he’d benefit from that as well. Ms. Lin Ping has been much friendlier to him as of late.
As far as he was concerned, his little nephew has finally proven himself somewhat useful. All his effort of raising him over the years had not gone wasted!
Lu Mingzhe smiled as well.
He wasn’t an adolescent boy who smiled a lot. When he smiled like he did right now, even though it was a very slight smile, the distant look on him became tender all of a sudden.
“Don’t worry, Grandma. I will.” He called her Grandma just like Meng Yuran and Meng Shanshan.
